The northern lights over Tucson

The Aurora Borealis lit up the Southern Arizona sky Tuesday night, as shown here in an iPhone photo taken just southwest of Tucson. Geomagnetic storms brought the northern lights to much of the U.S. that night, painting the sky in vibrant hues of green and pink.
For the first time in a while, Arizonans were able to see the Aurora Borealis over parts of the state on Tuesday night.
