Golfer Lee Trevino has always been a Tucson favorite. He often played in Tucson Opens and was repeat champion in 1969 and 1970. So, when he sponsored an exhibition on Sept. 17, 1979, to benefit the Mental Health Association of Greater Tucson, the turnout was huge. The one-day exhibition, sponsored by Adolph Coors Co., helped raise nearly $42,000 for the association. The event was held at the Randolph North Golf Course.
