Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon that closed Interstate 19 in both directions for several hours, authorities say.
The crash occurred about 3:45 p.m. when the driver of a sedan on southbound I-19 near the Ruby Road exit lost control of the vehicle, the state Department of Public Safety said.
The sedan struck another vehicle, crossed the median and rolled. It came to a rest in the northbound traffic lanes, the DPS said.
Both the driver and passenger in the sedan were thrown from the vehicle. They died at the crash scene, the DPS said.
Their identities have not been released.
