The body of the man found by men fishing in an East Side lake Wednesday was identified by detectives as 22-year-old Cody Busch, a Tucson Police Department spokesman said.
The discovery of Busch's body was reported to authorities about 7:20 p.m. after two people fishing at Lakeside Park, near East Golf Links and South Pantano roads, got their hooks snagged on a heavy object, said Sgt. Decio Hopffer.
Preliminary results from an autopsy performed Thursday provided no clear indication of what caused Busch's death, according to the Police Department. The medical examiner found no obvious signs of physical trauma and the cause of death is unknown pending toxicology results.
Busch's family reported him missing to the Pima County Sheriff's Department on March 1, said Deputy Dawn Barkman, a department spokeswoman.
The car Busch was driving when he was last seen was found at Lakeside Park before he died, Barkman said.
