Classes start Monday at the new Basis Oro Valley charter school at Steam Pump Village, at North Oracle Road and North First Avenue.
It's the school's third campus, along with one in Tucson and one in Scottsdale. More than two dozen students are on a waiting list to attend the school, known for its rigorous academics.
This year the school will hold 560 students in grades five through 10. It will add 11th grade next year and 12th grade the following year, eventually holding 720 students, according to head of school Carolyn McGarvey.
