Classmates of a UA medical student who was recently diagnosed with lung cancer have organized a fundraising run for Sunday.
The Team Derek 5-kilometer race is scheduled for 9 a.m. at Old Main on the University of Arizona campus.
Registration begins at $20 per person and goes up to $40 for registration plus a shirt.

Participants are asked to arrive 30 to 40 minutes early.
All proceeds from the race will benefit 41-year-old Derek Neal and his family.
Neal, who is a married father of two, was a second-year medical student at the UA College of Medicine when he was diagnosed with advanced stage nonsmokers' lung cancer.
