A two-year old girl has died in the hospital after being found in an east-side swimming pool Saturday evening. It was unknown how long the girl had been in the pool or how she got there, according to initial reports, which also stated the pool gate had been opened.Â
This is the second drowning death in the past nine days, after an 18-month old Pima County toddler was found unresponsive in his family pool.Â
The latest accident occurred in the 8000 block of East Kenyon Drive at around 4:50 p.m. An emergency dispatcher gave CPR instructions to the adults over the phone until paramedics arrived.
The child was quickly transported to the hospital, where she died Saturday night. Â
