Businesses were evacuated due to hazardous materials outside an exterminating company building at Shamrock Place near Ruthrauff Road.
Northwest Fire District responded shortly before 4 p.m. and found "chemicals smoldering" in an outside area. The situation was under control at about 5:20 p.m.
All evacuated businesses closed due to normal businesses hours, the fire district said.
The extermination business remains closed as crews are still at the scene.
Shamrock Place is completely shut down, the fire district said. Ruthrauff Road remains open.
