The tap-tap-tapping heard Monday afternoons at Catalina Foothills High School isn't the typical construction sound people may be used to.
Actually, the noise comes from Catalina Foothills Community Schools' Adult Tap Dancing class.
"Once you start to get muscle memory, tap dancing gets easier and easier," said instructor Hannah Thandi, whose class for people 18 and older takes place at 5 p.m. Mondays at the school, 4300 E. Sunrise Drive.
Throughout the six-week class, which started Monday, students learn tap-dancing techniques and routines. The class culminates in a little performance for family and friends.
"It beats the hell out of the treadmill," said Myron Donald, who said he's lost 10 pounds dancing.
