14 spots to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Tucson

With St. Patrick's Day right around the corner, here are 14 places celebrating the holiday.

Celebrate the holiday three days in a row at Frog & Firkin. 

At 5 p.m. on March 15, the restaurant will host a ceremonial keg tap. From 6 to 9 p.m. on March 16, the restaurant will offer traditional Irish music. 

At 9 a.m. on March 17, the restaurant will serve corned beef and cabbage and Irish lamb stew. That night, at 6:30 p.m., bagpipers will begin, with traditional Irish music from 8 to 10 p.m. 

An Irish menu is planned, with plenty of Irish drinks and green beer.

Berger Performing Arts Center — 1200 W. Speedway

Folks can visit the Berger Performing Arts Center to see two Irish bands: Realta and HighTime.

Realta is from Northern Ireland — with two Irish pipers, flute and whistle, and Irish drum. HighTime is a trio from Connemara with a guitarist, wire strung harp player and an Irish flute player. 

Tickets cost $25. The show runs from 7:30 to 10 p.m. on March 15. Call 981-1475 for more information.

North Fourth Avenue

A block party will take over part of Fourth Avenue in celebration of St. Patrick's Day. 

Party-goers can visit O'Malley's Bar and Grill, 247 N. Fourth Ave. and The Hut, 305 N. Fourth Ave, on March 16 and 17. 

There's one cover for both spots. Drink specials and food trucks will be available, in addition to live music. 

Doors open at 11 a.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. on Sunday. Call 623-8600 or 623-3200 for more information. 

Armory Park — 220 S. Sixth Ave.

Irish music, dancers, entertainment, a children’s game area, and food and merchandise vendors are all part of the St. Patrick’s Day Parade and Festival from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on March 17 at Armory Park downtown. The parade starts at 11.

A St. Patrick's Day festival will take place at Armory Park on March 17.

The festival is free and features local vendors, children's Highland games, live music and a beer garden.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a parade at 11 a.m. Call 661-6872 for more information.

Tubac Presidio State Historic Park — 1 Burruel St.

Celebrate the holiday at Tubac's Annual Santa Gertrudis Day.

Santa Gertrudis was a Belgian nun and her name graced the church in Tubac from 1767 to 1917. 

The day begins at 10 a.m. on March 16. There's a parade, in addition to lots of activities for young and the young at heart. And of course, brats and Belgium beer will be available for purchase. 

Admission is $7 for adults, $2 for children ages 7 to 13. Children under 7 are free. Call 398-2552 for more information.

Arizona Beer House — 150 S. Kolb Road

Arizona Beer House will be hosting a St. Patrick's Day event from noon to 11:45 p.m. on March 17. 

There will be a jumping castle, live music, food trucks, face paintings, bagpipers, balloon twisting, Irish whiskey and more. Admission is free.

The Shanty — 401 E. Ninth St.

The St. Patrick's Day event at The Shanty will feature live bagpipes and drink specials from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m. on March 17.

Gaslight Music Hall — 13005 N. Oracle Road

Join the folks at the Gaslight Music Hall, where a band will play some tunes and share the occasionally honest anecdotes behind favorite Irish ditties.

The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 16 and costs $25.

A St. Patrick's Day celebration will take place at the Wooden Nickel Tavern on March 17. 

Special food and beverage prices include corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew, green draft Bud and Bud Light beer, Irish whiskey shots, and Irish car bombs.

All ages are welcome to the event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Admission is free.

The Whistle Stop Depot — 127 W. Fifth St.

The Nancy McCallion and Friends St. Patrick's Day Dance will happen from 7 to 10 p.m. on March 17. 

There will be high energy, original, traditional and contemporary Irish music. Tickets cost $10.

The Parish is offering corned beef and cabbage from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on March 17. The lunch menu will also be available all day, but the brunch menu will not be available.

No reservations are needed.

Hotel Congress will host a St. Patrick's Day event that is set to feature a kids corner, Irish food specials, a DJ, dancers, live music and drink specials. 

The event starts at 12 p.m. on March 17. Call 622-8848 for more information.

Crowder Hall — 1017 N. Olive Road

A "Jigs, Reels, and Fairy Rounds" tribute to St. Patrick's Day event on March 17. 

The event takes place from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.

Riley’s Irish Tavern — 5140 N. La Cholla Blvd.

Riley's Irish Tavern is offering corned beef and cabbage, in addition to Irish car bombs.

Folks can visit the eatery from 6 a.m. to 2 a.m. on March 17.
