Thousands of school students in the Tucson area joined thousands more around the country during walk outs on and off campuses to commemorate 17 students who died in a school shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla. Many also protested gun violence and others advocated for gun rights.

Green died in a mass shooting in Tucson in 2011.
