Photos: Camp Nitro firefighting camp for teens in Green Valley area
Camp Nitro, a week-long camp for teens, ages 16-18, by the Green Valley Fire District in partnership with Drexel Heights Fire Department.
Camp Nitro mirrors the original camp operated by Drexel Heights Fire Department.
Green Valley Fire hopes the camp will help with recruitment, said Battalion Chief Dan Modrzejewski.
Students learned about water rescues, repelling, hiker rescues, fire behavior, fitness routines and more.
