First time back for the annual cutting since COVID-19 curtailed in-person events two years ago. Numbers of participants were down, but St. Baldrick's Northwest Tucson were on track to raise more than $4,500 for research into cures and treatments for childhood cancers. It takes two stylists from Sports Clips to cut the 15 inches of hair from the head of Candyce Pardee at the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation head shaving fund raiser at Mountain View High School, Tucson, Ariz., March 4, 2022. Participants volunteer to have their heads shaved to raise money for childhood cancer treatment and cure research, organizer Chris Dow estimated that the event, though short on numbers, had pledges for about $3,700.
