First and second graders got doused by a fire hose, but also learned some valuable lessons about fire safety at the annual Mini Muster at Manzanita Elementary School north of Tucson on October 23, 2019.

Rural Metro's Mini Muster is part of fire prevention month which is the month of October.

The Mini Muster includes five stations for kids to learn about fire safety as well as how to be a firefighter.

One station teaches kids how to get out of bed and find an exit during a fire;  the second gives kids the opportunity to wear boots and a fire coat; the third is a competition to see which team can fill up a bucket of water the fastest; the fourth allows kids to spray the water hose; and the fifth is set up so kids can learn about the fire truck.
