Award-winning Nogales dual language author, Roni Capin Rivera-Ashford, visits students at Holladay Fine Arts Magnet Elementary School. Rivera-Ashford and her son, Aarón Rivera-Ashford, co-wrote a companion book to Disney-Pixar's animated film "Coco."

Rivera-Ashford and her husband, Daniel, read to kindergarten through fifth-grade students and brought musical instruments and plants for students to use in their classrooms. Students, also, answered questions at the end of Roni Capin Rivera-Ashford's reading.

Rivera-Ashford's visit is part of the school's Residence Art Integration program to help students learn about different cultures. "What we believe is that every student that comes through the door, we honor their culture," said Principal Tonya Strozier.

Rivera-Ashford's other published books include "My Nana's Remedies", "Hip Hip Hooray, It's Monsoon Day!" and "My Tata's Remedies."
