Colter Lee, 11, is the oldest son of former Pro Rodeo Cowboys Association team roping legend Colter Todd, who retired from the circuit in 2008.
Mark Baird got hooked on the rodeo as a kid, when he went downtown to watch the parade.
“That got the cowboy fire burning a little bit,” Baird said. “It’s kind of been there ever since.”
The country singer has been in the studio working on a new record that he hopes to release late this year.
Eight-year pro football vet is in Tucson this week to compete in steer wrestling at La Fiesta de los Vaqueros.
La Fiesta de los Vaqueros beings Saturday with the first of six scheduled performances at the Tucson Rodeo Grounds.
“Man I was in a dogfight today," he said. "The horse bucked really hard right out of the gate."
Thursday's parade had 126 entries, from riding groups to bands to wagons sponsored by local companies.
