The Buffalo Police Department will no longer release mugshots of people who are arrested to the public, Mayor Byron W. Brown announced Friday as part of reforms adopted in the wake of protests against police.
He said that change - which was implemented last year - is now being made a permanent policy.
The City of Buffalo will also repeal 15 vehicle fines that were instituted in 2018.
Vehicle owners will have more time - 14 days, instead of seven - to fix minor vehicle equipment after receiving a ticket.
The changes are part of Buffalo's reform agenda, Brown said during a news conference Friday.
