A 32-year-old man was killed early Thursday in a single-car crash on the city’s east side, Tucson police said.
Shortly after midnight, Michael Isaiah Martin was driving a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu in the 10000 block of South Houghton Road when he crashed, Tucson police said in a news release. He died at the scene.
The Malibu was traveling south “at a high rate of speed” when it failed to negotiate a curve, drove off the road and struck a support for an overhead sign, the release said.
“Investigators found an empty alcohol container in the car and are considering impairment as a possible factor,” the release said.
The investigation continues.
