A Morenci woman was killed Saturday morning when the pickup she was riding in rear-ended a tractor-trailer on Interstate 10 east of Benson, authorities said.
Katherine Carbajal, 48, and her husband were heading east on I-10 at about 6:20 a.m. when it crashed into the back of the rig, the Department of Public Safety said.
Her husband, the driver, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries, DPS said. The extent of his injuries wasn't known.
The driver and passenger in the rig were not injured, the DPS said.
The agency is still investigating the cause of the crash.
