A Sierra Vista man has been linked to a home invasion in which a couple was robbed by a band of machete-wielding thieves who posed as police.
Jon Michael Garcia, 26, is being sought by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Department in connection with the robbery, Carol Capas, an agency spokeswoman said.
Garcia is currently wanted on two outstanding warrants, one for failure to appear in court for driving on a suspended license and the other for a felony parole violation, Capas said in a news release.
Capas said Garcia is considered violent and that anyone with information should call the department at (520) 432-9500.
The home invasion happened early Sunday morning. Investigators said the intruders claimed to be police before bursting into the home and making the couple who lives there empty purses, wallets and pants pockets in their search for money.
