Officers at the Nogales Port of Entry seized more than $2.3 million worth of marijuana from a tractor-trailer rig trying to cross into Arizona.
On Friday, Customs and Border Protection officers at the Mariposa cargo facility found 4,661 pounds of marijuana among electrical goods in the rig after being alerted by a drug-detection dog, the agency said in a news release.
The driver of the rig, Carlos Munoz-Munoz, 35, a Mexican national, was arrested and turned over to the U.S. Immigration and Custom Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
The drugs and rig were seized.
