A 32-year-old woman was killed Monday night after she drove her car into a palm tree on Tucson’s north side, police said.
Ivette Salas was driving at a high speed on West Auto Mall Drive, near the Tucson Mall, just after 10 p.m. when she lost control of the a 2004 Honda Accord she was driving, crashing into the palm tree, said Sgt. Matt Ronstadt, a Tucson police spokesman.
A 21-year-old man riding in the car with Salas suffered minor injuries, Ronstadt said.
It was unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash, he said.
