A man shot himself in the leg then surrendered to authorities after barricading himself inside a home in Three Points for about two hours.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department SWAT team was called to the house southwest of Tucson after deputies arrived about 1 p.m. after receiving a 911 call about an unknown problem in the 8800 block of South Vann Drive, just north of West Ajo Highway near the Robles Ranch Community Center, department spokeswoman Dawn Barkman said.
A woman told deputies that her husband had threatened her Monday night and today. He then barricaded himself in their home, Barkman said.
He surrendered to authorities about 3:30 p.m. He likely will face domestic violence charges once he is released from the hospital, she said.
