More than the peppers made a shipment of jalapeños recently intercepted by border officers at Nogales hot.
About 2,300 pounds of marijuana were found inside a tractor-trailer entering Arizona Friday, according to Customs and Border Protection officials.
The 99 bundles of pot hidden among the peppers was worth $1.6 million.
The semi-truck driver, a 27-year-old man from Nogales, Sonora whose name was not made public, was arrested and turned over to federal authorities.
The shipment of marijuana, jalapeños and the tractor-trailer were seized, officials said.
