Officers at the Mariposa Commercial Facility in Nogales seized $3.2 million worth of marijuana in a shipment of electronic parts and arrested a Mexican national, officials said.
A tractor-trailer rig driven by the Sonoran man, 39, was attempting Wednesday to enter at the crossing when a drug dog alerted to the vehicle. Officers found nearly 6,500 pounds of marijuana mixed in with the electrical parts and components, according to Customs and Border Protection.
Officers seized the drugs and tractor-trailer rig. The driver was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Homeland Security Investigations.
