Assistant U.S. Attorney Richard E. Gordon has been appointed to replace retired Pima County Superior Court Judge John Davis.
Gordon graduated from Arizona State University with a bachelor of science in marketing in 1986 and received his law degree from the University of Arizona in 1992. He has been with the U.S. Attorney's Office since 1998, having joined that office after working as an assistant Arizona attorney general and in private practice at the law firm of Snell and Wilmer.
"Richard's extensive experience in both public and private practice makes him well qualified to be a superior court judge," Gov. Jan Brewer said in announcing her appointment.
