Thanks to tips from the public, Tucson police have identified three men who they say beat a convenience store clerk and a customer before stealing cartons of cigarettes last month. Two of the suspects have been arrested.
Police on Thursday identified the three as Tyler Engle, 20, Manuel Castro-Flores, 21, and Joshua Mindiola, 22. Engle and Castro-Flores have turned themselves in to police. Both are facing charges of aggravated robbery and burglary in the third degree. Detectives have obtained an arrest warrnat for Mindiola.
Police said the three men went into the Circle K at 2802 N. Stone Ave. at about 4:45 a.m. Oct. 13. One walked behind the counter and assaulted the clerk. When a customer tried to intervene, the trio beat him, too, said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a spokeswoman for the Tucson Police Department.
