Mechanical issues caused a Tucson police helicopter to make an emergency landing Thursday night in an east side parking lot.
The helicopter touched down just before 9 p.m. in a parking lot at East Broadway and South Kolb Road, said Sgt. Fabian Pacheco, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
A warning light on the helicopter indicated the possibility of metal shavings in the oil supply, but after a mechanic checked the helicopter out it was able to fly back TPD's hangar near Tucson International Airport about 11:30 p.m., Pacheco said.
