A 19-year-old Tucson man is facing between three and 21 1/4 years in prison after pleading guilty Wednesday to manslaughter and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Terry E. Dixon admitted he shot and killed Flint Smith, 24, in March 2011. Pima County Superior Court Judge Howard Fell will sentence Dixon July 6.
Shortly before 10 p.m. March 24, 2011, a 20-year-old man called 911 from a home near Prince and Flowing Wells roads and said he’d been shot.
When officers arrived, the man told police to go to a nearby home in the 3700 block of North Turtle Avenue. Police found Smith and a 17-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds. All of the men were taken to the hospital and Smith died.
Dixon turned himself into Los Angeles police several weeks later after detectives obtained a first-degree murder warrant for him.
