A man who was connected to a string of bank robberies in August was arrested Saturday, police said.
William David Leverett, 48, was booked into Pima County jail on three counts of robbery after he was accused of holding up a Pima Federal Credit Union, 3730 N. Stone Ave. on Aug. 21, said Sgt. Chris Widmer, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
He turned himself in to authorities Saturday, Widmer said in a news release.
According to police, the suspect threatened a bank teller at Pima Federal Credit Union with a note before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money.
He is also facing charges for two other robberies on the northwest side.
Authorities have also connected him with at least one robbery in the Phoenix area.
