Thieves stole six air conditioning units during the weekend from a former Catholic school used by St. Augustine Cathedral.
Tucson police received the report of thefts Sunday evening from the former All Saints Catholic School, 415 S. Sixth Ave., said Sgt. Maria Hawke, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
The air conditioning units will cost up to an estimated $40,000 to replace, according to a news release from the Roman Catholic Diocese of Tucson.
Four other units were damaged and may also need to be replaced.
The cathedral uses the building for religious education classes.
