Former KVOA anchor Martha Vazquez was arraigned in Tucson City Court Wednesday and given her next court date, said city prosecutor Baird Greene.
Defense attorney Lawrence Gee appeared before Judge Geri Hale in Vazquez's place, and the case was assigned to Judge Jeffrey Klotz, said Assistant City Prosecutor M.J. Raciti.
Vazquez resigned Feb. 13 after she was cited for shoplifting. A store loss prevention officer told police he saw her stealing a $30 pair of earrings and a $338 jacket from Dillard's at Tucson Mall. A pretrial hearing has been scheduled for March 26, Greene said.
Gee declined to comment.
