An activity-filled archaeology celebration will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Vista del Rio Cultural Resource Park, 7575 E. Desert Arbors St.
The park is the site of an ancient Hohokam village.
The program is being held in celebration of Arizona Archaeology and Heritage Awareness Month and is designed for ages 8 to 12.
Children can make pottery "artifacts" to take home, grind corn using a metate and mano, make jewelry and play American Indian games.
There also will be demonstrations of traditional crafts such as arrowhead making.
Activities and demonstrations will take place along the trails in the park.
