A San Miguel High School junior is heading to Spain this summer as a winner of the Sociedad Honoraria Hispánica Bertie Green Travel Award.
Mireya Iglesias AyalaMireya Iglesias Ayala is one of 24 students nationwide to receive the honor, which includes round-trip transportation and guided excursions in the country, hotel and meals. Mireya will spend one to two weeks touring Spain’s historical cities of Madrid, Toledo, Granada, Sevilla and Córdoba.
More than 2,000 students applied for the Bertie Green Travel Award. The application process included an application, a five-minute YouTube video explaining why the applicant should be chosen, an essay in Spanish and letters of recommendation.
