The tunes were bumping and the dance floor was getting hot in Summerhaven Sunday.
What wasn't hot was the temperature - a cool 67 degrees at the top of Mount Lemmon.
In its third year, Music on the Mountain is back for the summer season, kicking off the Sunday concert series that lasts through Sept. 4. The series is presented by LAVA Music - the Live Acoustic Venue Association - and sponsored by Mesquite Homes.
"People like getting together outdoors and hearing some great live music," said organizer Bonnie Vining.
The weekly series will feature 14 bands and now will have an acoustic jam session that is open to anyone. The jam session runs from 11 a.m. to noon before the main act plays.
"It supports the local musicians. It's tough for them to find a place to play in the summer," Vining said.

"It's a family event, people bring their kids, families, dogs," she said, adding that they request no outside food, drinks or coolers. Sales from food and drink vendors on the mountain help pay the musicians, she said.
Charmaine Hill has come to nearly every concert on the mountain.
"It's such a diverse group of people," she said. "It's a nice Sunday afternoon out of the heat."
Musician Fred Coy plays with Five Way Street and will play in the Music on the Mountain series on June 19.
"I wanted to support local music," he said. "It's events like this that give Tucson its soul."
An added benefit, Hill said, is the beautiful weather.
"It's an opportunity to be up in the cool, clean pines hearing some good music," Hill said.
