The Midnight Masquerade started about 8 p.m. Saturday in the Copper Ballroom at the Tucson Convention Center as Catalina Foothills High School juniors and seniors arrived, most dressed to the nines, for the school's prom.
Wearing a prom dress from her days as a student, junior class adviser Carissa Reppert said it was her first year organizing the event.
The juniors she worked with to put the formal together are "an amazing group of kids - it's been a breeze."
Principal Loren Rathert was expecting 400 to 500 students.
"These kids really turn out," he said. "We only do a couple of these a year and the kids really like them."
