Oro Valley Councilwoman Salette Latas resigned from her post effective Thursday, saying she needs to focus on her family and earning a living.
"The economic challenges that have affected our Town have also affected me personally," she wrote in a letter to the council. "For the past few months, I have focused my efforts on rebuilding my economic security. In so doing, I have come to the realization that I will no longer have the time required to devote to my council duties."
Her departure is the third in recent months.
Councilman Al Kunisch resigned in February and Councilwoman Paula Abbott resigned in November.
Elected in 2008, Latas' term would have expired in 2012.
The council will consider whether to fill her seat at a closed session April 7, according to a town news release.
