Drivers using East Tanque Verde Road between Grant and Sabino Canyon roads should expect lane restrictions over the next three weeks during a sidewalk improvement project.
Work begins today on the project, which will include the installation of new sidewalks, driveways and access ramps along Tanque Verde, according to a news release issued by the Regional Transportation Authority.
The project is part of the RTA plan approved by Pima County voters in 2006.
Work on the project will be done weekdays from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., with travel lanes adjacent to the work restricted, the release said.
Crews will start on the south side of the road, working east from Grant to Sabino Canyon, then move to the north side of the road and work west from Sabino Canyon to Grant, the release said.
