Two Amphitheater High School students finished in the top three in the Arizona School Boards Association Jack Peterson Student Photography Contest.
Amphi junior Ron Lilman won second-place honors and Leslie Schonhorst, a senior, took third place in the statewide contest that was open to K-12 students from 240 Arizona school districts and charter schools represented by the Arizona School Boards Association.
Lilman and Schonhorst won in the black-and-white category and took photos that represented Arizona's landscape.
Lilman's photo was titled "Windmill Sonoita" and Schonhorst titled her winning photo "Horses."
Both received enlarged versions of their photos for finishing in second and third place. Their photos also will be printed in the Arizona School Boards Association's quarterly member magazine.
