Science Saturdays presentation about bugs, their natural defenses
Alex Gutierrez, 6, makes a face after taking a whiff of a stink bug from entomologist Christina O’Connell during her presentation at Science Saturdays on July 5 at the Wheeler Taft Abbett Sr. Library, 7800 N. Schisler Drive. As part of the library’s Fizz Boom Wow summer series, O’Connell gave a talk and presentation about bugs and their natural defenses. The first Saturday of every month features a different science-related program, with August’s slated to explore “Slime” where attendees can make their own gooey creation. Required registration opens July 19. The free program is for ages 5-12, free. The next program is the library’s Friday Fun Club, at 2 p.m. Friday, when kids can build a CD hovercraft, design a Death Star and build a Lego spacecraft.
