The long-awaited BMX/skate park in Picture Rocks will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Saturday.
In the works for more than two years, it was originally hoped the park would be open in time for this past Christmas, but it looks like the community is getting a Valentine instead.
District 3 Supervisor Sharon Bronson will likely be on hand as contractor Site Design Group Inc./California Skateparks puts on a demonstration of the area. Refreshments will be served.
Dirt began moving on the 10,000-square-foot project in late November. It cost more than $250,000 in neighborhood reinvestment money from 2004 Pima County bond funds.
