The 24th annual First Magnus El Tour de Tucson, presented by Diamond Ventures, takes place Saturday throughout the Tucson area. Here are some of the best places on the Northwest Side to view the event, according to route director Andy Guerrero:
● Along Rancho Vistoso Boulevard. Get there by 9:30 a.m. to see participants from the 67-, 80- and 109-mile events turn off North Oracle Road and ride through Rancho Vistoso for nearly five miles before turning onto West Moore Road.
● Ironwood Ridge High School, 2475 W. Naranja Drive. This is the starting point for the 33-mile event, which begins at 12:30 p.m. "This is a fun thing to watch them leave, because everyone is so hyped up," Guerrero said.
● Intersection of West Twin Peaks Road and North Silverbell Road. With less than 17 miles left on the course, this area is a great spot to see the lead riders get in position for the final stretch toward the Downtown Tucson finish line.
