AMADO, Eugene "Gene"

Age 83, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2018. Gene is a descendant of the pioneer Amado family. He is survived by his wife, Alice and daughter, Melissa and son-in-law, Richard House. Also, by siblings, Henry (Laurie), Benjamin (Louise), Alfred (Lupita), Carmen, Irma (Salvador), Mary Ann (Manny) and Amanda (Saturnino). His parents, Rosario and Miguel, preceded him. Gene proudly served in the US Army and Reserves from 1957 - 1963. He was known for his smile, kindness and stories of life on the ranch. Special thanks to the staff at Brookdale at Tanque Verde for their care of Gene. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Pima Council on Aging Grandparents Garden Project, 8467 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ 85710. Services will be held on Friday, October 26, 2018 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

It is with great sadness that the family of Carolyn Joan Cole announces her passing on Sunday October 21, 2018 at the age of 91 years. Carolyn will be lovingly remembered by her children, Sandra Peters and Ivette Cole. Carolyn will also be lovingly remembered by her five grandchildren, Eric, Denise, Cole, Monique and Devin; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Lauren, Egypt, and McKayla. Carolyn was preceded in death by loving husband, Lt. Col. Norman G Cole Ret.; parents, Noah and Lucille Klopfenstein; and sister, Vivian Riggs. A Funeral Service in memory of Carolyn will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 105 N. Norton St. Tucson, AZ. Interment will follow at South Lawn Cemetery 5401 S Park. Arrangements by SOUTH LAWN MORTUARY.

On Saturday, October 20, 2018, LeRoy passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at the age of 76. LeRoy was born on September 26, 1942 in Las Vegas, New Mexico to Donaciano and Cristina Gonzales. He was a Tucson resident for 45 years and employed by BHP Copper for 29 years. LeRoy was a local artisan and he loved woodcarving and painting. LeRoy is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years Marcella (Marcy) and his five children, Theresa (Rob) Hanson, Anthony, Patti (Craig) Norris, Chris (Nance) and Isaac (Jessica) -- as well as his grandchildren, Helena, David, Elizabeth, Sarah, Christopher, Alyssa, and great-grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia. He also leaves behind many family members in New Mexico. LeRoy was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be missed dearly. Mass will be held Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Cathedral. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY & CEMETERY.

93, died peacefully surrounded by the love of her family on October 20, 2018. During her life Lillie was an active member of the Tucson Community; involved in civic and cultural organizations. Lillie was the wife of a Marine and kept her household going while her husband fought in World War II and Korea. They were both active in the Marine Corps League throughout their life participating in many philanthropic endeavors. Lillie was devoted to her family and community. The Leon home was the gathering place for family and friends throughout her life. She was often lovingly referred to as "Mom" or "Nana" as she opened her heart and life to those around her. Lillie was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Ubaldo Valdemar Leon; mother, Hortencia Calvillo. She is survived by her daughters, Olga Madero (Robert), Mary Morales, Diane Arnold and Patricia Martinez (Jose); son, Ubaldo Valdemar Leon, Jr. (Erin); bother-in-law, Audomaro Leon; sisters, Charlotte Carrillo and Alice Moreno. Also survived by 16 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Villas in Green Valley for the loving care they provided Lillie while she was a resident. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Carrillo's Tucson Mortuary (North Chapel) 204 S. Stone Ave., with a Rosary recited at 9:00 a.m. Mass will follow, 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine's Cathedral, 192 S. Stone Ave. Interment at Holy Hope Cemetery. RAGELS, Norma Mary (Brown)

was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania March 22, 1938. She passed away October 9, 2018 in Tucson, Arizona. Norma and Charles Darrell Ragels were married in 1969 until he passed in 2015. She is survived by her siblings, Rita Herold, Peggy Hess and Thomas G. Martin; children, Kathy Sherwood (Doug), Steve Corey (Sheryl), Joanne Mesich (Scott), Tom Corey, John Ragels, Chuck Ragels (Tina), and Lisa Ragels. In their later years, Norma and Darrell adopted four of their grandchildren, Stephanie, Jessica, Cheyanne, and Dakota Wolf. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, many nieces and nephews, and beloved friends. Norma was compassionate, caring, kind, and generous. She volunteered for Flowing Wells School District and received multiple Volunteer of the Year awards. Norma worked as a bartender and volunteer for The Shriners, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Moose Lodge. She was a dedicated Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed camping, fishing, and baking. Norma was loved by her family, friends, neighbors and community members. A creative soul with a gentle spirit who will be greatly missed. Services held for Norma and Darrell Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N. Luckett Rd., Marana. A Remembrance Celebration of Life following at Avra Valley VFW. Arrangements by ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
