BERHEIM, Dr. Cedric Lee

passed peacefully from this life on Thursday, January 16, 2020. He was born in Minneapolis, MN on December 6, 1941 and has resided in Tucson since 1966, when he established his Chiropractic practice. Dr. B. loved and was loved by his family, patients, friends, neighbors, and his Golden Retriever, Max. He was a large, gregarious man who was always ready to share a hug and a smile. He enjoyed the company of family and special friends from the Alpha Beta Dinner Group, the White Mountains, and Tucson. Survivors include his wife, Barbara; daughter, Stephanie Crain; son-in-law, Bryon Crain; beloved grandchildren, Clayton and Sydney Crain; special mother-in-law, Velma Stanley; sister-in-law, Nancy Stanley; brother-in-law, James Stanley and former wife, Anne Durkee. He was Papa to his extended family whom he loved as his own: Rhoda Johnson (Alan), Pam Clark (Duane), Tom Walters (Peggy) and their children, Linda, Stephen, Meara, Sandra, Joey, Chaz, Ross, Philip and Tia. Friends are invited to share a happy memory/story of Ced at a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Tanque Verde Guest Ranch (Saguaro Room). Special Thanks to the staff from OSHYN Hospice and granddaughter, Lin Lewis who spent many hours caring for and helping Papa. January 8, 1934 - January 7, 2020

Ed was a resident of Tucson and passed away quietly at Peppi's Hospice Facility after a sudden diagnosis of untreatable cancer. Ed was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama and graduated from Lanier High School. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he completed 26 years of honorable service to his country. After military retirement, he served another 20 years as a Civil Servant, finally retiring for good at Davis-Monthan AFB in 1998.

Ed was the beloved husband of Maxine Brown for 54 years. He was preceded in death by his sister, Bobbie Cosby and grandson, Keopele Bright. He will forever be remembered by his loving sister, Edith Griffin; children, Barbara Haverstock, Kathie Williams, Stacy Guthrie and Frank Brown; grandchildren, Scott Haverstock, Kekoa Bright and Frank Brown Jr., as well as countless other friends and family members who were blessed to have known him.

Ed loved the outdoors and was a competitive sportsman enjoying softball, golf, bowling, dancing, and for many years fishing in the White Mountains. He was meticulous in everything he did, and his family lovingly remembers how simple Sunday picnics found him spending all day Saturday developing "the plan". He touched the lives of a multitude of people with his infectious smile and generosity and, maintained his trademark sense of humor until the end. 92, born July 9, 1927 in Manteno, IL passed December 26, 2019. Lois was a loving mom, "Grammie", and friend to everyone. She was loved for her sense of humor and wittiness, which made for many cherished memories.

She was the oldest daughter of Carl and Thelma Payne. Lois graduated Manteno High School and attended the School of Nursing St. Mary's in Kankakee, Il. She is survived by her dearly loved sons, Jeff (Lori), Steve (Renee) and a daughter, Judy (Matt); grandkids, Mackenzie, Justin, Kyle and sister, Irma Dralle of Peotone, IL. Lois is reunited in heaven with husband, Allen; grandson, John "JJ"; brother, Sunny; sisters, Audrey and Joann.

In June of 1947 she married Allen Fredrick Carstens in Peotone, IL. They moved to Tucson in 1948. She lived her life devoted to family, church and friends. She was active in the Catalina Junior Women's Club, enjoyed U of A sports, tailgating and traveling cross country in the motor home visiting family and friends. She opened her home to all her kids' friends and loved to host parties.

Special thanks to the Haven Hospice for their loving care. A Celebration of Lois' life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Northminster Presbyterian Church, 2450 E. COCHRAN, Jo Beth

was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 24, 1934 to Alois Antone Heyman and Ora Letha Ray. She had two brothers, Loyd and R.B Brown and a sister, Agnes Marlene Heyman. She also grew up with her niece, Carol Ann Heyman. She came from a very large family and spent most of her time between Houston and Gatesville, Texas. In 1957, she met Bob Cochran and they married on February 2, 1958 (depending on which one of them you talked to...) But, we are sure it was February 2, Groundhog Day. She and Bob lived in Tucson for the rest of their lives, with Bob passing on January 10, 1984. Jo Beth did not graduate from high school, but was the first in her family to graduate from a University. She graduated from University of Arizona with a Bachelors in Nursing in 1975 and specialized in labor and delivery which was her passion. She had a brilliant mind and was the rock of her family. She and Bob had three daughters, Barbara Wheeler (Kyle), Ellen Kirkbride (Jerry) and Peggy Cochran. She has six grandchildren, Robert (Nicky), Craig (Andrea), Todd (Victoria) Wheeler, Harley Washburn, Michael (Pam) Kirkbride and Gwyneth Kirkbride. She also had six great-grandchildren, Ella, Lydia, Zoë, Joel Wheeler, Olivia and Syndey Kirkbride. And we can't forget her loving dogs, Rey and Quinn. She has numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved very much. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bob and her brothers and sister. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Carlos passed away surrounded by loved ones. He was a native Tucsonan and a Tucson High School and University of Arizona graduate. He married the love of his life, Patricia Borboa Guzmán, in 1974. He was predeceased by his parents, Pete and Vickie Guzmán. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; three children, Carlos Guzmán, Ricardo Guzmán, and Maricela Guzmán Leal (Luis) and five grandchildren, Luis Leal, Nicholas Leal, Aaron Leal, Diego Guzmán and Alexia Guzmán. He had a loving, funny, outgoing, and caring personality. He enjoyed retirement with his wife, helping to care for his grandchildren, and spending time with family and friends. He always looked forward to his family's annual White Mountain trips and grilling at family barbecues. He also loved golfing, reading, music, and tending to his beautiful yard. To know Carlos was to love him and he will be missed more than words can say. A Rosary will be recited at Most Holy Trinity Parish, 1300 N. Greasewood Rd., on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 9:30 a.m. and a Funeral Mass will follow at 10:00 a.m.

69, passed away on December 10, 2018. Andy was born July 4, 1949 in Philadelphia to Janice and Richard Harclerode. He grew up in Levittown, PA, and Lincroft and Ewing, NJ. From the beginning, he was curious and open-minded, a lover of nature with an adventurous spirit. As an adult, Andy was gentle, and relational, a fiercely devoted husband, father, and grandfather. A wonderful storyteller with an amazing memory and an interest in genealogy, he loved to regale family and friends with humorous tales from the past and present. He graduated from Ewing High in 1967, then attended Trenton State College, graduating with a BA in history, and then a Masters in Guidance and Counseling. He and Debbie married in 1972 and lived in Trenton, NJ. They moved to Tucson in 1978 where he attained his MSW from ASU. Andy's career, dedicated to the service of the vulnerable, included many years working with CPS, and Our Family Services. In retirement, he was a volunteer with Eastside Neighbors, and served as board member, then president, of the Desert Palms Park Assn. He is survived by his devoted wife and life partner, Deborah (Kohan); two children, Amy Harclerode (Gina Callender) of Mt. Vernon, NY, and David Harclerode (Divine); precious grandchildren, brothers, Bill (NJ), Tim (VA) and Dean (PA) and their families, and cousins. age 73, died on Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at the VA Hospice Care in Tucson with Nan by his side. He was born on June 6, 1946 in Tallmadge, OH to Dale and Jane (Wilson) Hoge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jim. A gathering to celebrate Dick's life will be held at a later date. Loving father to John (Yvonne) Kavathas, Johanna Kavathas-Noon, Katina (Michael) Contreras, Sammy Kavathas, Christina (Gregg) Mandros. Further survived by 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, family and friends. Passed away peacefully on January 16, 2020 from complications of Alzeimers. Norma is survived by Tony, her husband of 54 years; daughters, Christine (Marianne), Theresa (Grace) and Veronica (Jesse); grandchildren, Davina, Samuel, Vianna and Brynne; sisters, Amelia and Margaret (Charlie) and brothers, Arnold (Mary Jo) and Ronald (Adie). Norma was born November 28, 1942 in Tucson. She graduated from Tucson High in 1960 and from the U of AZ with high distinction. She began her career as an elementary teacher and later became a homemaker. Norma was an accomplished tennis player having competed in USTA tournaments and winning two national championships. In 2012 she was inducted into the Tucson High School sports Hall of Fame. Later in life after moving to Green Valley Norma volunteered at St. Andrews Children's Clinic and La Casa Nueva Para Ninos orphanage. Services to be held on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Tucson with Rosary at 10:00 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass. Marjorie "Margie" Babb Luganob winged her flight from this world in the early hours of Sunday, January 19, 2020. Her memory will forever live on in our hearts. Born in Cleveland, Ohio to William and Holly Babb, Margie danced to the beat of her own drum.

Margie was a teacher in Cleveland, Ohio, Guam, and Tucson, AZ for over 40 years. While on Guam, Margie met the love of her life, a tall, dark, handsome swimming instructor, Bienvenido "Benny" Luganob.

Throughout her life, Margie worked as a dedicated teacher, a devout Catholic, a loving mother and wife, and a loyal friend. She will be missed by all who were lucky enough to have known her. Margie is survived by her daughters, Holly Luganob and Marcy Luganob McMacken; her grandson, Orin McMacken, as well as numerous relatives in the Philippines, Guam, and the United States.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 1800 N. Camino Pio Decimo, Tucson, Arizona. Arrangements by ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.

Galen Byron Maddy, 75, from Carlsbad, CA passed away on October 22, 2019.

He was born to the late Byron and Frances Maddy in McGregor, Minnesota on January 30, 1944.

He lived in Tucson during his teenage years attending Rincon High School. After graduating from Michigan State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business, and serving in the US Marine Corps, he relocated to the Carlsbad area where he spent the next 45 years as a fiduciary in the financial services industry, and held successful careers as a columnist, author, land banker, mortgage banker and financial advisor.

A veteran of the Marine Corps, Galen held a particular interest in the welfare of America's troops. He created and authored the Veteran's Friend, an assistance to help veterans and families receive the little known Aid and Attendance Benefit in their retirement years.

Galen spent his life doing what he loved and will be sorely missed as a friend and giving compassionate spirit. He is survived by his friend and life partner, June Toohey; two children, Susan Maddy Fox from San Antonio, Texas and Galen Byron Maddy, Jr. from Las Vegas, Nevada.

The late Marion Du Plain was born in Oregon, Illinois on August 27, 1922 to Emma Katherine Sauer Harnish and Earl Kieffer Harnish. She peacefully passed away on January 9, 2020. Marion married Philip Du Plain in 1946. The couple enjoyed great adventures traveling, ultimately establishing their home in Tucson, AZ. Their son Tom was born in 1954 and Lucienne followed in 1956.

Marion went to work for the University of Arizona as a secretary in the Registrar's Office. Serving students and working in administration gave her great joy until her retirement. Marion was an avid U of A basketball and football fan during and for many years after her tenure with the university. She will also be fondly remembered as a volunteer for Reach Out, a devout Catholic and a competitive bridge player. Her outgoing personality, positive influence and radiant smile will be greatly missed by all who encountered her.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents, loving husband, brother and sisters. She is survived by Thomas Allen Du Plain (Sandra), and Lucienne Du Plain, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020, beginning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Odelia's Catholic Church, followed be a small family luncheon.

Michael A. Porter passed away on January 10, 2020, at St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, just shy of his 81st birthday. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be remembered as a smiling, caring, generous man who treasured his wife and family.

Born in Salinas, CA to Jack and Frances Porter, he was the oldest of four boys. After graduating from Salinas High School in 1957, he served in the Army prior to attending Hartnell College, where he excelled at football, baseball and basketball. He later went on to the University of the Pacific on a football scholarship where he made many lifetime friends.Mike had a long successful career in sales, spending 15 years at the Heinz Company, followed by 15 years working for Henry Company. He met his beloved wife Bobbie at Henry, and they built a beautiful house on the water in Discovery Bay, California, which served as a hub for entertaining, family gatherings and watersports.

In 2004 Mike and Bobbie moved to a new retirement home with a view of the golf course and Catalina mountains in the Saddlebrooke community in Tucson, Arizona. Golf was also often a highlight of the annual "brothers' weekend" that the four boys each took turns at planning for over 40 consecutive years.

Mike and Bobbie enjoyed extensive travels throughout the world, along with frequent trips to spend time with family and share their timeshares in California and Mexico. They delighted in just spending time at the Saddlebrooke house whether it was watching sports on TV, hosting friends and neighbors, or watching the sunset on the back patio with Bobbie and his dear cat Toby.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Bobbie; sons, Mark and Tim; daughters, Marci, Darlene and KC; daughter-in-law, Jannée; grandchildren, Melanie, JJ, Madison, Chelsea, Trevor, Trace and Taryn; brothers, Jerry (Mary) and Doug (Kathy) and numerous nieces and nephews. Mike is preceded in death by his brother, Tom.

Jack graciously transitioned into the light on December 29, 2019. A graduate of Cincinnati Country Day School, University of Cincinnati and attendee at Tulane University, he pursued a career in marketing and sales for several well-known companies obtaining top honors in his profession. Jack, a gentle soul, so sensitive and companionate, will be well remembered as his humility was exceeded only by his generosity. He had a strong and unending persistence throughout his life for personal growth and was dedicated to his spiritual path and his friends similarly inclined. Like Will Rogers his exuberance abounded as he met new people with genuine interest and love. In Retirement his passion was international computer-generated backgammon at which he excelled. Surviving this remarkable man are his sister, Caren Schiro of Tucson, AZ, best friends, Corky Steiner of Cincinnati, OH and David Schiro of New York City and Palm Beach, FL, and many dear Schiro cousins. A private funeral was held in Cincinnati on January 9, 2020. Remembrances include Trees for Israel through The Jewish National Fund or the charity of your choice. 100, entered into eternal rest on January 6, 2020 and is now walking with Our Lord and reunited with Robert, the love of her life and devoted husband of 78 years. She is survived by their daughters, Cheryl (Ron) Wiener and LaDonna Leonard, both from Tucson. Wanda was known affectionately as "Muffie" to their four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was born in Detroit, MI on November 29, 1919, and raised in Toledo, OH. It was there that she met and married Robert LeRoy Walston on January 25, 1941. The family moved to Lakewood, CA in 1950. She retired from the Douglas Aircraft employee's store in Long Beach, CA, where she was the men's apparel buyer. They then lived in Big Bear, CA, and Sierra Vista, AZ, before moving to the Tucson Estates community for over 30 years. Their final move, less than two years ago, was to Mountain View Retirement Village, Assisted Care. The family is so grateful for the excellent care by the amazing and loving caregivers and all the staff there. Wanda so loved all her family and her Catholic faith. She has been an inspiration to all who knew her. We will surely miss her gentle charm, witty humor, and her love.

Broadway Blvd., where there will be Visitation and Viewing on Friday, January 31, 2020, 4:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Odelia's Catholic Church 7570 North Paseo Del Norte. A final Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m. at church. There will then be a procession to the Holy Hope Cemetery Mausoleum for gravesite services.

89, was born on October 9, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York and passed away on January 18, 2020 at TMC Hospice, Peppi's House. He was a resident of Tucson since 1959. He was preceded in death by his mother, Rose Haggerty; father, William Weeks; sisters, Theresa Mautschke, Winifred Reilly; brothers, William Weeks and George Weeks. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Helen M. Weeks, who loved him dearly. Survived by daughters, Eileen P. (Clifford A.) Leet, Margaret A. (Billy) Simmons; grandchildren, Lawrence C. Ransom III, Christine E. Ransom, John J. Simmons and Patricia A. Simmons; great-grandchildren, Ethan Simmons and Rogan Simmons.

He was a Navy Reservist; New York Police Officer; Tucson Police Department Sergeant; Pima County Adult Probation Officer; Pima Community College Instructor for Criminal Justice Courses and Traffic Survival School.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m., Rosary at 3:00 p.m. at ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 300 N Tanque Verde Loop Rd. Interment immediately following at All Faiths Memorial Park, 2151 S. Avenida Los Reyes. A lunch reception will be held at Corpus Christi Church following the burial.

of Tucson Arizona, daughter of the late Carl and Margaret Rieder. She passed away January 10, 2020 after a brief illness. Born in Kitchener, Ontario she moved to Tucson in the early 80's and made it her new home. She loved her yard, the Koi ponds and her garden. She is survived by her husband of 20 years, David; her children, Trevor and Jessica and two granddaughters. Arrangements by ANGEL VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
