BEHNKE, Brian Jensen

passed away after a car accident on December 5, 2018 in Northern California, where he had lived and farmed for the last ten years. Characterized by a generous spirit and a kind appreciation of others, Brian loved being outdoors, collecting art, playing his guitar, and listening to live music - some of his favorites being Bluegrass, The Grateful Dead, and Phish. A man of boundless energy and a huge heart, he also enjoyed boating, snowboarding, traveling to Europe, Asia, and Latin America, and spending time with his devoted dogs Mille and Tiva. Brian was born October 12, 1985 in San Antonio, TX. He graduated from Coronado High School in El Paso, TX, as a member of the class of 2004, then attended Northern Arizona University. He is survived by mother Gretchen Jensen Corcoran; father William Charles Behnke Jr.; Stepfather, John Corcoran; sisters, Dana Behnke and Claudia Behnke, maternal grandparents, James and Erna (Betti) Jensen; stepsiblings Jackie Corcoran Greene, Kevin Corcoran, and Abigail Corcoran. Celebrations of Brian's Life were held in Oregon House, CA, and Nevada City, CA, on December 15 and 16, 2018. "Sometimes, we live no particular way but our own."

BORNS, Dolores (Dee Dee) 10/27/1960 - 11/26/2018

An obit for my wife Dee Dee, you left us early that November morning going peacefully to the Lords side to help St. Francis and St. Jude with those things close to your heart. Now reunited with Mom and Dad and Stewart too. Dee Dee fought her small cell lung cancer to the end never giving in one bit always up beat through it all. Dee Dee you will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. I will forever miss you, that smile and sense of humor most, I Love you Dee Dee forever. Dee Dee is survived by husband Fred; brothers, Mitchell and Tony Reid; sisters, DeAnna Reid and Theresa Nunes and seven four legged kids and countless in-laws. COLWELL, Ralph Johnson

81, of Tucson died December 12, 2018 from cancer. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; his children, Katharine (Kit) Standridge (John), Clayton (Robin), and Fletcher (Jennifer) and seven grandchildren. Ralph's musical career began when he formed a band with older brothers, Steve and Paul. As teenagers, the Colwell Brothers became regulars on the Tex Williams Show and signed a recording contract with Columbia Records. In the 1950s, under the auspices of Moral Re-Armament (now Initiatives of Change), the Colwell Brothers visited 60 countries, writing and performing original songs in dozens of languages and dialects. In 1965, Ralph and his brother, Paul, wrote the song, Up With People and the Colwell Brothers became the creative force developing the Up With People program. For 25 years Ralph directed the Up With People shows, including Super Bowl Halftimes in 1976, '80, and '86. These halftime shows introduced the non-marching band performance which is emulated today. More recently, Ralph managed the family properties in Tucson. Board memberships include UA Music Advisory Board, Tucson Meet Yourself, Arizona Repertory Singers, Old Fort Lowell Neighborhood Association. Services are scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2019, 2:30 p.m. at St. Philip's in the Hills Episcopal Church. GERSTENFELD, Barbara J.

passed away December 15, 2018 after five weeks of fighting septic problems. She was a devoted wife, companion and best friend to her husband of nearly twenty two years. Her love for her children and especially for her grandchildren was readily apparent. She was born on the 20th of December 1931 in Benson, Minnesota to Roma Glee and George Martin Syverson and was always proud of her birthplace. After her graduation from Benson High School, Barbara enrolled at Mcalister College in St. Paul, Minnesota. Post-graduation found her in Great Falls, Montana teaching 3rd graders, meeting and marrying her first husband, Howard Clarke. Three children, Dr. Patricia Clarke, David Clarke, Steve Clarke and sister, Sharon Huber have survived her. Soon after she used her teaching abilities at her church in California. Another move to Arizona in 1992 later resulted in marriage to her present husband, Mel Gerstenfeld in March 1997. Barbara loved her church and cruising vacations, after boarding it did not take long before she knew many other passengers. It is said that she never met a stranger. GRIFFITH, Leonor T.

Passed away at the age of 90 on December 26, 2018, may she rest in peace. She was preceded in death by her parents, David and Adela Trejo; her sister, Alicia Trejo and her son, Sergio Trejo and her beloved husband, Richard S. Griffith; She is survived by sons, Jorge Luna and Richard D. Griffith; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She has been a long-time resident since 1953. She was born in Mexico City. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially Teresa Luna. Visitation will be held at EVERGREEN MORTUARY, Wednesday, January 2, 2019 between 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., 3015 N. GROSS, Barbara Kay 12/9/1940 - 12/15/2018

Barbara entered this world on Monday, December 9, 1940 at Lancaster General Hospital, Lancaster, PA., born to the parents of Dale Weldon Miller and Thelma Elizabeth Miller. Barbara is survived by her loving husband William H. Gross of 59 years; brothers, Donald and Jeffry Miller; son, Kevin Gross; daughter, Kaylene Miro; grandchildren, Jenna and Adam Gross and Anthony and Kathryn Miro. Barbara enjoyed a full and rewarding life for 78 years. Barbara had a successful 30 year career in the travel industry as a travel consultant, agency manager, and tour director while residing in Reno, NV., Pebble Beach, CA., and Foster City, CA. Her career provided the opportunity to visit numerous U.S. cities and international destinations. While living in San Clemente, Ca, Barbara enjoyed her time as a stay at home mom for 10 years. Upon moving to Foster City, CA., her love for music fostered her involvement with Sweet Adeline's International Women's Barbershop chorus singing for over 20 years. As a group, the chorus participated in state and international competitions. While a member of Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, Barbara continued singing in the church choir. Barbara made a positive impact on everyone she met throughout her life, cultivating lifelong friendships. She was praised for her cooking, entertaining, decorating, and she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and traveling. Barbara's strong organizational and leadership skills were put to use throughout her career. Upon retirement, Barbara was active in the Oro Valley Welcome Wagon Club and was involved with St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church's senior outreach program as coordinator of HUGS (Happily Under God's Supervision) for nine years. She also served on numerous committees at St. Andrew's, including the position of Elder, responsible for coordinating worship and music services, and was a member of the pastoral search committee. Barbara's bright-blue eyes, welcoming smile, and tender heart will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. The family extends gratitude to the care givers at Aspen Care Home Assisted Living and Casa de La Luz Hospice for providing special care for Barbara during the last 22 months of her life. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, January 26, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. HALL, Francis Roger "Skip"

F. Roger "Skip" Hall was born on February 4, 1932 in Princeton, New Jersey to William and Ethel Hall. He passed away at his home in Tucson, AZ on December 11, 2018. He is survived by his son, Roger W. Hall and wife, Buff of Scottsdale, AZ; his daughter, Margo Hall of Tucson, AZ; sisters, Vivian Lawrence of Sacramento, CA and Mary Sibley of Los Angeles, CA; brother, Richard Hall, Sr. of Blue Bell, PA; longtime companion, Donna Lee of Tucson, AZ and granddaughters, Kaci Hall, Serenity Hall, Heather Emady and Kelli Emady. KRUTZSCH, Philip Henry 7/12/1919 - 11/7/2018

Born in St Louis to Katherine and August Krutzsch, he grew up in San Diego. A talented athlete, he played football and track. In high school he met the love of his life, Dorothy Edens; marrying in 1940, they shared 74 happy years before her death in 2014. He graduated San Diego State, served in WWII, and in the Naval active reserves until retiring as Lt. Cmdr. in 1979. He received MS-Zoology (UC-Berkeley) and PhD-Anatomy (Kansas Univ). Philip spent his career as a medical educator and researcher. One of three founders of UA College of Medicine (1964), he helped plan the Basic Science Building, recruit the founding faculty and first students. He was the first Chair of the Dept of Anatomy. After retirement (1990) he continued research and publication. Philip was an extraordinary man with a love for nature, an adventuresome spirit, an inquisitive mind, and an appreciation for all living things. He is survived by daughter, Lynda Butner (Steve); son, Eric Krutzsch (Mary); five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life: Casas Adobes UCC Church, 6801 N. LINDBERG, Jeanette (Olander)

On Saturday, December 22, 2018, Jeanette (Olander) Lindberg, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully at age 85. Jean was born October 10, 1933 in Chicago, IL to George and Pearl Olander. She was raised in the Arizona desert and Tucson, and graduated from The University of Arizona. Through her church, she met Robert D. Lindberg and they married on June 11, 1955. They settled in Houston so that Bob could continue his medical career at M.D. Anderson. In Houston, they raised three sons, Hugh, Craig and Guy. In 1984, Jean supported Bob in his career by moving to Louisville, KY where they happily lived until retirement; when, in 1995, they moved back to Houston. Jean enjoyed many hobbies, including antiquing, interior design, cooking, bowling and sewing. She turned her passion for antiques and interior design into a business, opening a successful antiques store known as "The Little Shop". Her love of cooking and entertaining made for countless good times and wonderful memories. She was always reading a mystery book, especially a Dick Francis novel or enjoying mahjong and bridge. Jean was preceded in death by her father, George and her mother, Pearl. She will be lovingly remembered by Bob, her husband of 63 years and their three sons, (and their spouses): Hugh (Lorraine), Craig (Susan) and Guy; sister, Judy Cooper (Carroll); brother, Mark Olander (Kathy) and grandchildren, John and Catherine Lindberg. MEYER, Richard John

76, died December 8, 2018 after a long illness. He was born November 30, 1942 to Kathleen (Walsh) and John Meyer. Dick grew up in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1960. He received his BS from UW Plattville in 1964. He had a long career with Hallmark Cards working first in Ohio followed by years in Texas and Washington, DC. In later years he opened a UPS Store in Monona, Wisconsin. He married Patricia Neely March 2, 1999 and they resided in Madison until Patricia's retirement in 2014. They then moved full time to Tucson, Arizona. Dick loved his years in Tucson relishing the warm climate and beautiful Sonoran Desert sunsets. He made friends easily and enjoyed many rounds of golf with his buddies. Dick is survived by his wife, Pat; his sisters, Jane Niebauer and Pat Conole and his brother, Tom Meyer and many much loved in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins. MOORE, Donald R. (Hoss)

Passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on December 13, 2018. Born July 17, 1926 in Barnsdahl, OK. Preceded in death by son, Duane R. Moore. Survived by his wife, Rita, of 38 years; daughters, Donna J. Moore, Donna L. Stewart; son, Michael Stewart, eight grandchildren, five great -grandchildren, and ex-wife, Shirley Moore. ROEDIGER, Walter Charles Jr.

92, of Tucson, AZ, passed May 29, 2018. Preceded in death by second wife, Anne-Rosewell "Rosie" Roediger, and brother, Robert. Survived by children, Charles C. Roediger and Anne V. Roediger, of Tucson, and step-children, Edwin M. Gaines, Jr. of Sonoita, Anne P. Gaines of Tucson, and duVergne R. Gaines (David R. Shackelford) of Los Angeles. Also survived by his sister, Margaret J. Barnett of Richmond, VA, Rosie's; grandchildren, Satya, Justin, Ananda, and Aspen Gaines, and nieces, nephews, and friends. Son and grandson of Arizona pioneers, Walter was the first of three children born to Walter Sr. and Helen West Wood on March 7, 1926, at the Stork's Nest. Graduated Tucson High class of 1944 and served in the Navy "V-12" program until the war ended. Completed his degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Arizona in 1949, and soon began his career building homes, subdivisions, and commercial projects, for Lusk Corporation, and then his own company, Palo Verde Construction. His construction projects were not complete without landscaping, and even after retirement, he enjoyed planting a shrub or a tree for future generations. It was not unusual for a new plant to show up at the front door, with suggestions for a location and proper watering, and any tools needed to complete the job properly. Sometimes the plantings were in public spaces, without fanfare or requests for gratitude, and quite likely without "permission." An accomplished cruising sailor and airplane and glider pilot, he knew how to read the clouds, the wind and the stars. He held Soaring Society of America Diamond Badge (No. 147) for accomplishments in distance, altitude and goal flights, and set records for soaring in Arizona. He built confidence in others by turning over the controls of the plane or glider or boat and teaching us to keep our eyes on the horizon, a gentle lesson for navigating the turbulence of life, as well as the vessel in hand. SATOUR, Eva M. (Reed)

Eva, our love for you is undiminished after 11 years of your absence from our family. Time has not eroded any memories of you and our love for you is still as strong as always. We remember you as my wife, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of our flock; we adore you for your inward and outward beauty and wisdom. Many times, we come across the phrase "Ask mom, she'd know" but come up empty handed. God so graciously answered my prayers when he put you into my life, my perfect companion, to whom I am still eternally grateful. Your personal qualities were quite evident as someone in control of her goals. Eva, you somehow managed to pursue your life goals while also helping me fulfill mine - and you did so with happiness and steadfast companionship that has resonated with me to this day. To me you were the cutest and most alluring woman ever, and you have no match to this day. Your beautiful blue eyes stole my heart like a thief in the night. When you were faced with meeting our Savior, you'd say "It's the cycle of life". It hasn't been easy, wondering why it wasn't me, but trusting in His holy plan has given me peace. I salute you.
