He graduated from the University of Arizona College of Agriculture with a degree in Animal Science. Post graduation, Ken attended the University of Arizona College of Law and was a practicing trial attorney for 50 years. He was a member of the Pima County Bar, State Bar of Arizona and the American Bar Association. He was the past president of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Ken will be remembered for his ability to spin tales, smile, and regale friends and family with stories of wheat farming, raising sheep, law, and life.

At 16, Ken obtained his private pilot license and loved flying, a hobby he pursued throughout his life. In addition to flying, Ken loved his menagerie of animals, including four horses, six dogs and two cats. One of Ken's greatest joys was to go horseback riding in the rolling hills around his home. He was a skilled rider who looked so natural seated in his saddle.

Ken loved his Arizona Wildcats. He watched and followed all the sports and was a season football and basketball ticket holder for years. Ken followed his beloved Dallas Cowboys since their inception in 1960. According to Ken, every year was the year the Cowboys were going to win the Super Bowl.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret "Meitchie" Allen and his daughter, Karise and grandchildren, Cooper and Lilly; son, Jackson (Suzi) and Ken's sister, Pam Schley and many friends and family. Clyde Beaver

Clyde Beaver

BEAVER, Clyde R.

Our beloved father and grandfather passed away on April 14, 2020 after a brave battle with Parkinson's disease. He was born on November 24, 1930 and raised in Montesano, Washington. Following graduation from high school, he worked in Alaska as a surveyor, then joined the United States Air Force. During that time, he met Darlene, the love of his life. They married in 1954 and were married for 54 years. He attended the University of Texas on the GI Bill and graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. He and his family moved to Tucson in 1961, and he worked for Hughes Aircraft Company for 24 years until his retirement in 1987. In 1990, he started his own business called Darco, representing parts suppliers, until he closed his business to attend to Darlene.

Clyde defined his life through a strong work ethic, and a love and commitment to family and friends. He had a spirit of eternal optimism and was a man of many talents. He could fix anything, grilled a fine steak and was well-read and informed. Physically fit into his 80's, he was a firm believer in exercise as the key to health. He was a staunch Republican and relished a debate of politics, ideas and faith. He attended St. Michael and All Angels parish. He was an avid University of Arizona football and basketball fan. For many years following retirement, he organized the meetings of the OFC: Old Farts Club, a group of Hughes Aircraft engineers. His engaging and gracious personality made him a favorite of those who knew him. He was a generous friend to many and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Clyde was a devoted husband, a supportive father, and a dedicated grandfather. He is preceded in death by Darlene. He is survived by his three children, Laurie (Dominick) San Angelo, Russ (Roxanne) Hanson and Sara (Ryan) Reynolds, as well as 12 grandchildren. We will miss you, Pa. We express our thanks and appreciation to The Bradford Home for their professional and warm-hearted care of Clyde. Jerald Jondall

Jerald Jondall

JONDALL, Jerald D.

Age 87. Died April 9, 2020 in Tucson, Arizona. Born 1933, Roland, Iowa. Jerald, known by others as Jerry, Jon, or J.D. dedicated himself to a lifetime of selfless public service to our country. On the plains of rural Iowa, Jerry grew up with the hardships and lessons of the great depression. Facing adversity early on instilled in Jerry the qualities that would define him throughout life, tenacity, integrity, resilience, resourcefulness, fairness and patriotism. Jerry grew up tough but with a loving, kind heart. A decorated Korean War veteran, he enlisted and served during combat operations aboard the submarine USS Besugo SS-321 interdicting enemy vessels in the northern Pacific. Based in San Diego, CA, Jerry met the love of his life Marjorie Ann, survived by wife of 64 years, a native of Michigan. Upon discharge, they were married in 1956 and he enrolled at Iowa State University. This move was closer to father Truman, mother Ramona, brother Gene who have passed, survived by sister, Pam now residing in Gilbert, AZ. In 1958, was blessed with the birth of their first son Steven, who with wife Theresa presently resides in southeastern Michigan. Jon's young family soon relocated to Michigan. Having family members serving with the Michigan State Police, Jerald aspired to a career in law enforcement. Finding his own pathway, he made application in 1961 to the U.S. Border Patrol where Jerald entered service and graduated academy session 079 on April 18, 1962. Here began a distinguished career of steady progression in rank and responsibility. His first duty station assignment was El Centro, CA. and in 1962 they celebrated the arrival of their second son Michael who with wife Dava make their home in Tucson, AZ. In 1966, they returned to Michigan upon Jerald's promotion to Patrol Agent In Charge of the Trenton, Michigan station. J.D., noted for his tenacity of interior enforcement, some called him by the nickname "The Hauler". His knowledge of marine operations came to good use supervising and patrolling the Great Lakes and river boundaries of the U.S. and Canada. J.D.'s expertise and the field office coverage of Trenton's tri-state area led to his promotion to sector Intelligence Agent. With his performance, he rose to Deputy Chief Patrol Agent and soon after Chief Patrol Agent for the Detroit sector leading immigration enforcement for much of the Great Lakes. In 1981, greater achievement awaited accepting the Chief Patrol Agent Tucson, AZ, sector tasked with nearly all the Arizona international border with Mexico. Under Jerald's leadership, the Tucson sector expanded and modernized, targeting drug interdiction, formalized checkpoint operations, increased sensor and surveillance technology and developing some of the first search and rescue tactical response BORTAC officers. Retiring in 1988, Jon and Marge pursued activities bringing them well-deserved joy. They sought travel in and out of the country. Jon loved the attractions found with pleasant Arizona winters and relished the summers at their lake home near Coldwater Michigan, a family gathering spot going back to 1968. The "Cottage" was a place he sacrificed for early on. Jon took great pride in the many projects he did himself steadily improving the property over the years and the instruction it afforded his sons in doing the same. Many happy memories made there by family and friends alike. Jerald was very fond of time shared with grandsons, Ryan, Adam and great-grandson, Cameron. In Tucson he gave much to granddaughters, Kelsea and Tayler. Preceded in passing by granddaughter, Daniele. As Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Friend and Neighbor he gave much and as our Hero will be missed by all. Service by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME to be scheduled.

Margarita Rosenberg

Margarita Rosenberg

ROSENBERG, Margarita Dora

October 8, 1969 - April 8, 2020

After a short and valiant fight with complications related to uterine cancer, Margarita passed away peacefully with her husband by her side. Margarita will always be remembered as a kind and selfless person. She was such a shining light, an inspiration, and an uplifter to all she encountered. She was also quite a fighter, but God has other plans beyond our understanding. She touched so many lives in the 50 years that God let us borrow her from Him. Margarita enjoyed baking, gardening and spending time at her ranch in Tubac, AZ. She will be remembered for her humor, kindness, love, compassion, forgiveness and acceptance. Margarita was a great wife, sister, tia and all around beautiful human being. Margarita is preceded in death by her parents, William and Dora Alicia Rosenberg. She leaves behind her husband, Gabriel J. Ortiz; siblings, William (Patty) Rosenberg, Abraham Rosenberg, Ana (Genaro) Acuna, Ruth (John) Turner, Abigail Rosenberg, Bernadette Rosenberg, aunts, uncles, many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many friends.

Margarita was instrumental in forming a coalition of scientists and environmental advocates to ensure social justice for thousands of people who were gravely affected by the Grupo Mexico Mine disaster of 2014 in Sonora, Mexico. She was also studying to be a pharmacist.

As an aspiring health professional and advocate for others, Margarita would want people to recognize the signs and symptoms of the disease that tragically took her life too soon. She experienced unusual bleeding, pelvic pain, fatigue, shortness of breath and cough. She endured these symptoms and pain for several months without seeking medical attention. Usually, any delay in seeking medical help may allow the disease to progress even further and lowers the odds of treatment being successful. In Margarita's case, she had a rare and aggressive cancer and the outcome would have been the same. More information can be found on the American Cancer Society's webpage at amp.cancer.org. If you are uninsured or under-insured, Community Health Care Centers have sliding fees and assist with Medicaid enrollment.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Casa Maria Soup Kitchen where Margarita enjoyed volunteering her time and resources. Casa Maria webpage is casamariatucson.org and is located at 352 E 26th St., Tucson, AZ, 85713 (520) 624-0312, Arrangements by DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME.

VIETA, Suzanne

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the passing of our mother on April 18, 2020 in Tucson Arizona (due to the Covid virus). She was able to hear from all of us by phone. Special thanks to nurse Debbie who held the phone to her ear and told us of how she reacted when we spoke. Three of mom's greatest accomplishments were #1 moving to Tucson where she loved the desert and all its beauty and, of course, the weather. #2 Being a driving force for the American Heart Association CPR in Braille for the blind program. #3 Having a role in starting 911 in Jackson County, Michigan - helping to save lives will never end for her.

Of course her truly greatest was raising our family to be the best we can be, giving our talents to those who need them and just being a great mom!

Suzanne was predeceased by husband, Norman; baby, Christopher and parents. Survived by children, Patricia (Thomas), Stephen (Jean) and Mark (Kathy); grandchildren, Jessica, Nicholas and Sarah and great-granddaughter, Morgan.

All who knew her should now celebrate that she is in peace and having a great time with dad, Henry and Katie and all the members of our family and friends in eternal rest and joy.

Peace be with all of you and stay safe and well.

Due to the Corona virus, no services are planned at this time. Remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice.
