It is with great sadness that the family of David Ayala-Zamora announces his passing on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at 60 years of age. He faced cancer and lived fully throughout his illness. David graduated from the Instituto Nacional General Francisco Menendez high school in San Salvador. He attended La Universidad de El Salvador, where he studied Electrical Engineering and Psychology. David is survived by his spouse, Siovhan Sheridan Ayala, and three children, David Ayala-Lindeman, Margarita Anne Ayala-Sheridan, and Maura Ruth Ayala-Sheridan. He is also survived by his father, David Ayala-Dominguez and five brothers and sisters, Ana Betty Ayala de Giron, Obed Edgardo Ayala-Zamora, Ruth Ayala-Zamora, Yani Ayala-Zamora, and Eliud Ulises Ayala-Zamora. He is survived by his in-laws, Kim and Theresa Sheridan and Peggy and Andy Guerrero. He is predeceased by his mother, Maria Lucila Zamora de Ayala. David was a leader, mentor, friend, father, spouse, brother and son. In the United States and in El Salvador, David was a fierce defender of justice, working tirelessly in community organizations and unions. In El Salvador he worked at IMPEP and for an FMLN mayorial race in Nejapa. In the United States, he successfully organized many union campaigns around the country for building services worker, homecare workers, airport workers and the social security office in El Salvador. David was a champion for those without power of a voice. In the U.S. he worked at Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, SEIU local 6, 49 and 503, Working Washington, One America, Promise Arizona, and Pramila Jayapal for Congress. He also founder of Casa Latina and worked there. There will be a Funeral Service for David at Our Mother of Sorrow's Parish, 1800 S. Kolb on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 6:30 p.m., with a reception to follow. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER MORTUARY.

94, of Tucson, died October 21, 2018, due to the effects of Lewy Body Dementia. She was born to Esmond and Evangie Wells, October, 26, 1924 near Fairfield, IA. She is survived by children, Raymond, Bruce (Kristi Bradford) and Susan; grandchildren, Sam Kaplan Gould (Courtney Thornton), Sarah Kaplan Gould and Erin Kaplan (Marcus Boese); brothers, David (Connie) and Don (Glenda); and numerous nieces and nephews and several sisters- in-law. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Alexander; son-in-law, Richard Gould; sister, Esther; brothers, Jim, Marvin, Charlie, Henry, Andy and Larry. Growing up on a small Iowa family farm, she attended Parsons College and taught several of her brothers in a one-room school house. She came to Tucson alone on a military troop train in 1944, briefly attended the UA and worked various jobs: Levy's department store, the phone company and as a nanny. She soon met and married Al, who worked in the family business, Tucson Electric Supply Company. Pauline sewed prize winning quilts, created stuffed bears and had adventures in a sailplane and hot air balloon. She loved caring for her desert plants and created a beautiful home sanctuary. She had a Ham radio license and loved to travel, crossing the continent several times. Known for her ingenuity and creativity, she made uniquely wrapped gifts. A kind and generous person, she was gentle and reserved. She pitched in, got things done and always put family first. Pauline will be dearly missed. Much thanks to the caretakers and staff at Amber Lights, Catalina In-Home, By Your Side and Casa de la Luz for their wonderful care the past few years. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Community Food Bank or your favorite charity. A graveside gathering to be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Evergreen Cemetery. She is deeply loved and missed; totally dedicated to family. Died of a fall. Preceded in death by husband Antonio R. Lesprón, and children Armida and Jesus; survived by children, Jorge, Gilda, and Antonio (Sue); grandchildren, Michelle (Friedrich), Clarissa, Cecilia, Christopher, Sergio, Danus, Samantha, Raquel, and Sophia; great-grandchildren, Sabrina, Joy L. Gaefke, Christopher, and Jesus; great-great-grandchildren, Jesus, and Emiliano. Her parents are Ignacia Haro and Nicolas Flores, both from Huejucar Jalisco, Mexico. She was born in Gomez Palacio Durango, Mexico and has six siblings, all deceased: Jesus, Nicolas, Jose, Eduardo, Guadalupe Romero, and Ruben. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 at BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd.

Born August 11, 1929 in Walla Walla, WA to Halsey and Emma Burgess, Lorna died peacefully at her home in Tucson Meadows Mobile Home Park on October 19, 2018. Predeceased by her former husband and father of her children, Ramon Ross; sister, Beverly Latourette and brother, David Burgess. Lorna is survived by her partner of 40 years Linda Mason; daughters, Jane Ross, Susan Robbins (Matt) and Michelle Ross (John Reed) and sisters, Georgia Kurtz and Elaine Burgess, and three grandchildren, Rachel and Natalie Burns and Chance Kawar as well as nieces, nephews and life-long friends Mary and Eric Odendahl. Lorna graduated from Washington Sate University and was a life-long "Go Cougars" fan. At the age of 50 she became a student at United Sates International University, graduating with a Master Degree in Art Therapy. She began assisting others with their journeys at hospices, psychiatric wards, and eating disorder programs. She later opened her own private practice in Tacoma, WA. After retirement Lorna continued "making art". She entered her pieces in various shows and won some awards. She enjoyed gardening, her lap cat KD, sudoku and jigsaw puzzles, reading, traveling, music, her friends and neighbors at Tucson Meadows, Over 40s Breakfasts and Mt. Lemmon. Her family is sincerely grateful to Dr. Kristen Lorenz and staff as well as Casa de la Luz Hospice for their care and support. Donations in Lorna's name may be made to Casa de la Luz or the Community Food Bank. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOME, Dodge Chapel.

76, of Tucson, AZ died on October 22, 2018. She was preceded in death by her son, Thomas, and her parents, Robert and Dorothy Ash. She is survived by her loving husband, John; brother, David; her daughters, Christina and Ginger; seven stepchildren, and four grandchildren. She will be missed by many, including her large extended family. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. DESERT SUNSET FUNERAL HOME 3081 W. Orange Grove Rd.

TELLMAN, Stephen

beloved husband of Jen Tellman passed away on October 21, 2018. Steve was son of Herb and Helene Tellman. He was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1934, and grew up in an Air Force family, traveling around the country before settling in Sacramento, CA as a teenager. Steve received his Bachelor's degree from Reed College and Ph.D in mathematics from the University of Washington. After graduating, he taught briefly at Pomona College before joining the math department at the University of Arizona in 1965. He remained on the faculty for 33 years, introducing thousands of students to the joys and sorrows of calculus, linear algebra and statistics before retiring in 1998. He had an impressive ability to overcome obstacles and remain positive in the face of difficulties. He battled back from polio as a teenager and showed a similar determination and optimistic attitude in his later years as he faced decreasing mobility and other medical issues. Steve spent his retirement continuing to study and write. In addition to his love of math, he enjoyed classical music and had a daunting collection of classical CDs and LPs, ranging from Josquin des Prez to Iannis Xenakis. In addition to Jen, he is survived by his son, Edwin; daughter, Carol; and step-daughter, Ginette. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES Avalon Chapel.
