Thomas Balisle

Thomas Balisle

BALISLE, Thomas

Madison, WI - Tom L. Balisle, 93, died on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Oakwood Prairie Ridge in Madison, WI, with his son by his side. He was born September 2, 1928, in a traveling timber town of Clebit, in Alikchi (Medicine Man in Choctaw), Oklahoma to David Preston Balisle and Nora Mae (Nash) Balisle.

He lived a life of travel for work, moving his family though Texas, Georgia, Oklahoma, Tennessee, South Carolina, Missouri, and Wisconsin, as he rose in Allis Chalmers from a farm equipment parts manager to the head of the farm equipment division for the southern half of the United States and California. After 30-years, he retired to Tucson, Arizona where he could be near his youngest daughter's family and enjoy his beloved senior tennis circuit team year-round.

He started life in a world that no longer exists, where you had to find, make, grow, or invent anything you wanted or needed and then share it with others. His family captured only a fraction of his stories from his early life, and he finally wrote a few more for his family to treasure. At age 89, his love of family and need for assistance pried him loose from Arizona to live in Madison near his son Mike Balisle, and his life partner Candy Page, and his daughter, Linda Balisle. His last conversation was with his youngest daughter Nita Kelly Balisle Goodrich, who he told, "We're going to get this done." He died 24 hours later. He lived by this motto, "Get her done," to the great benefit of his family.

In 2017, his granddaughter Jenny Balisle and son Mike took him on a road trip to his birthplace. During a visit at the Forest Heritage Center Museum, he viewed "The People of the Forest" exhibition which highlighted the history of local traveling timber towns. When he walked into the museum, lined with photographs of the local traveling timber communities, Tom was able to name most of the people in the photos. The happily surprised museum staff gave him "The Traveling Timber Towns " book which had photos of himself and family. Museum staff arranged for the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma to document Tom's oral history. Highlights from this interview can be seen on the Chahta Stories YouTube: https://youtu.be/cioY_7pBSqs

Tom is survived by his children, Mike (Candy Page), Linda and Kelly (David); four grandchildren, Jenny (Chris Holmes), Sam Haskin (Lee), Claire Goodrich and Bo Goodrich and great-grandson, Timothy Haskin. His daughter-in-law, Candy was his special angel these past four years, and his son-in-law, David Goodrich his regular companion for the previous 15 years.

Tom enjoyed the loyalty and devotion of his family and his friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, all his siblings, Preston Balisle, Margaret Henson, Delbert Balisle, Tony Balisle and Faye Wingfield, and his former wife, Juanita Gibbens.

There will be a family only service in Oklahoma and Colorado in the spring. For those who wish to honor him, contributions may be made to the Madison Boys and Girls Club, the International Crane Foundation, or any charity which provides direct services to those in need.

The family thanks Dr. Farah Khan, and Unity Point Nurse Coordinator, Jennifer Vohs who honored dad's tremendous vitality and drive by keeping him alive as long as possible and not treating him as an old person. We also thank the staff at Oakwood Prairie Ridge, the team at Agrace Hospice and the nurses and doctors at Meriter Hospital and UW Hospitals for their care.

Dad, now that you're freed from your body, we know you cannot keep still. May you have great adventures in the happiest of hunting grounds.Arrangements by RYAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES.

Nancy Cox

Nancy Cox

COX, Nancy Jane Love

94, of Tucson, AZ, passed away peacefully on September 23, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family and friends. Born in Wichita, Kansas on March 21, 1927, Nancy was the daughter of Mary Elizabeth (Bush) and Walter L. Love. She was the last living Love family member of her generation. Her father, Walter Love, built his family's business, The Love Box Company, in Wichita.

Nancy went to East High School and upon graduation in 1944, attended the University of Kansas, where she was a member Pi Beta Phi. After graduation in 1948, she married her college sweetheart, George C. Cox and they embarked on the adventure of a lifetime together. After George finished Dental School, they settled in Wichita with their two sons, Clay and Tim. Shortly after opening his orthodontics practice, George was drafted into the Army and was stationed in Japan in 1956. After he left for Japan, Nancy made the long journey with her two young sons in tow to meet him and spend the next eighteen months living in Japan. They returned to their life in Wichita where they welcomed their daughter, Nancy, in 1958. After raising their family, they retired to Colorado Springs, CO in 1980 and moved to Tucson, AZ in 1988 for the year-round sunshine and perfect tan. Nancy was an avid tennis player most of her adult life. She formed many friendships and enjoyed many social events on the courts, wherever she lived. Nancy loved to travel, not only on worldwide adventures, but especially to visit family and friends whenever she was invited. She loved Costco, cookies and her car, which she drove until the end.

She was a wonderful hostess, friend, and counselor/mom to all. Her hospitality knew no bounds and had no curfew. Most of you have heard the stories, some of you were actually there. Not one to hold a grudge (very often), her advice would always be: get over it and move on! Nancy was her three children's biggest cheerleader through every facet of their lives. Most of all she was known for her always funny, but often sarcastic sense of humor. After George passed away in 2004, Nancy lived a very active and independent lifestyle in Tucson. She earned her Gold Life Master in Bridge by playing several times a week and traveling to tournaments. Before covid, her last weekly bridge partner was her son, Clay, who she adored playing with. Nanny was thought to be a technology whiz by even her grandkids. Her days were spent playing Words with Friends, doing crossword puzzles, keeping up with everyone she had ever known and beyond on Facebook and Instagram, and texting her wide circle of people. Special thanks to Gloria, Kim, Iwona, and Anne for always taking her to happy hour and keeping her busy and engaged. Your love and friendship meant everything to her. She was not ready to leave us, she had so many more things to do and see.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents, her three siblings, Francis, Mary Elizbeth and Robert and her grandson, Ward Cox (Tim and Anne). She is survived by her three children, Clay Cox (Nancy) of Tucson, Tim Cox (Anne) of Houston and Nancy Smidt (Greg) of Houston. She is idolized by her grandchildren, Callie Cox, Casey Cox, Claire Karakey, Curtis Cox, Christopher Cox, Tim Cox, Scout Smidt, Lizzie Bright, Cooper Smidt, and her five great grands. She loved her family fiercely!

Nancy requested that her family celebrate her life with a Happy Hour at the Tucson Country Club. She will be honored on Saturday, November 6, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. If you loved her, you're invited.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Ward Cox Scholarship Fund at Give.STHS.org or by mail to: St. Thomas High School, 4500 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX, 77007. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Dodge Chapel.

May 26, 1945 - September 17, 2021

Kate Flasch passed away peacefully following a sudden illness on Friday, September 17, 2021, at the age of 76 in Tucson, Arizona. Born to Sarah and Jack Hey, in Consett, England, and survived by her husband, Frank Flasch; daughter, Victoria (Manny) and son, Ben and her grandchildren, Ella, Malcolm, Aliza, Gabriel, Manuel and great-granddaughter, Ava; sister, Liz Earnshaw (Jeff) and brother, Ian Hey (June); sister-in-law, Betty Flasch and brother-in-law, John Flasch (Sebrina).

Kate grew up in England, attended Bristol University, and immigrated to the US with her first husband, and son Ben. She settled in Cleveland where she had her daughter Victoria, returned to school and obtained her MBA from Case Western University. Kate's new career resulted in her relocating to Chicago where she had a long and successful career in human resources. Here she met her second husband, Frank to whom she was married for nearly 40 years; together Frank and Kate raised her children.

In 2001 and after many years in Chicago, Kate and Frank decided that they had had enough of Chicago winters, and they decamped to the Arizona desert where together they enjoyed the next phase of their lives in Tucson. After completing a successful corporate career, Kate turned her organizational and decision-making skills toward making local Tucson organizations stronger and more effective. She served three terms as president of OFLLAH (live at home program) and two as president of the OFLNA (neighborhood association). Kate was a very strong leader and listened to all inputs before making any significant decisions. She was a contributor to many causes with a kind heart and generous spirit.

Kate and Frank loved to travel, visiting family and exploring different countries and cultures around the world. She was a prolific reader, an avid life-long theatre-goer, and an outgoing, gracious host who enjoyed dinners and socializing with guests in their home. She solved crossword puzzles and Sudokus to help keep her mind fresh.

Kate bravely met many challenges in her life -- both career and health wise -- with strength, perseverance, drive, determination, and a strong will to survive. Kate loved her family fiercely and gave her all to whatever she did. She will be missed dearly by all.

A celebration of Kate's life will take place on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at the San Pedro Chapel - 4:00 p.m., Tucson AZ

JIMENEZ, Alicia J.

91, went to be with the Lord September 24, 2021.

Beloved momma, grandma, great-grandma, friend, and mischief-maker - Alicia leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, faith, and family. Alicia was a woman ahead of her time. Full-time mom, full-time employee, full-time fashionista - she lit up a room with her smile, her kind heart, her words of encouragement. She had an eye for finding the one who needed a friend and made them welcome. Her deep faith and quiet strength sustained her through life's inevitable storms.

Alicia was our matriarch. We, as a family, will forever miss her. We are grateful for the time we shared, for the example she provided, for the sketchy food that lurked in her fridge, for the much-loved family holiday bowling party she hosted each year, and so much more.

She leaves behind too many to mention…daughters, sons, grand kids, great-grand kids, in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews, friends. It was a full life and one well-lived. We love you momma. We will never forget you…it's just not possible. Xxoo

Richard Labrecque

Richard Labrecque

LABRECQUE, Richard Joseph "Dick"

82, of Oro Valley, Arizona, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2021, following a several-month battle against large cell lymphoma. He left this world in much the same way he approached life and business: with determination and focus on his final task, spending less than 24 hours in home hospice. He passed surrounded by three generations of his loving family, who were devoted to his care through his final days.

He was born to Eugene and Ludivine "Roy" Labrecque and raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts, the youngest of 11 children. At age 21, he married Janet Michaud, to whom he was married for almost 61 years, until his death. They had three children, David Labrecque (Rebecca Perry), Lisa Labrecque (D. Gene Gay), and Susan Leader (John).

Spending his entire business career in the machinery industry, Dick climbed through the ranks of GE's Aircraft Engine Group and then Colt Industries. By the end of his career, Richard Labrecque had built ITT Fluid Technology, leading provider of water treatment equipment, into the world's largest pump producer with over $3 billion in yearly revenue.

In 1998 Dick and Janet retired to Oro Valley, Arizona, just north of Tucson, where he spent his last two decades playing golf, developing new friendships, and getting to know his three grandchildren—Erin, Laura, and Sean Leader.

LAZAROW, Lee

loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away on September 24, 2021, at the age of 66. Lee was born on June 30, 1955, in Tucson, Arizona. He graduated from Rincon High School and attended the University of Arizona while working in Real Estate.

Enamored with movies from a young age, Lee left Tucson for Los Angeles to make his way into the glitz and glamor of Hollywood. Lee "lizard" built a career behind the scenes of the film industry as a prop master, producer and occasional actor. He flourished in the industry and loved every second of his career. Lee was well-known in Hollywood for his prop truck, affectionately known as "The Big Blue Whale," that housed thousands of props. He loved and took pride in his work, earning respect within the industry. Always "Hollywood Lee," to those lucky enough to have known him, Lee was truly larger than life. He could turn any outing into an adventure and any casual event into an occasion to remember. If there was anything to be done, Lee did it well. His endearing personality and glowing smile garnered the lifetime friendship of countless people, including numerous Hollywood notables. He lived his life in bold colors, matching his unique and colorful personality. There has never been a more thoughtful, kind-hearted, gentler soul than Lee. He always put others ahead of himself. Lee opened his doors to friends in need of a place to stay. "Lee Lee" would always make sure others left his home with a belly full of food and a smile on their faces. Lee loved people, but his true treasure was his love for his family. Lee left behind a precious daughter, Lacey Annie Lazarow, and a beautiful granddaughter, Kaliana Barbie Lazarow, whom he loved more than anything. These two girls were indeed the lights of his life and what "he lived for." Some of Lee's delights were taking his daughter to Disney, bringing her to movie sets, and taking friends and family on vacation adventures. He was truly a kid at heart with a childlike sweetness and a heart of gold. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Pearl Lazarow; brother, Howard and nephew, Ari Lazarow. Lee is survived by his daughter, Lacey Lazarow-Shoup (Brandon); granddaughter, Kaliana Lazarow; his brother, Sheldon; nephew, Jason Lazarow and niece, Heather Kose (Adrian). That being said, in lieu of flowers, please donate to Shriners Hospitals for Children or a charity of your choice.

Richard Lemen

Richard Lemen

LEMEN, Richard John

It is with heavy heart, and a little surprise to announce Richard John Lemen, aka Rich, Dad, Gramps/Grumps and Dr. Lemen, died September 16, 2021 at home with family and the wonderful caregivers from Casa de la Luz Hospice and Placita Home Care.Dad made his debut into this world on May 27, 1942 in Paradis, LA, the smallest of small bayou towns in Louisiana yet part of the impressive US oil production system, and transitioned to ancestor in Tucson, AZ. The in-between times consisted of a long medical career and "encouraging" his family to participate in adventurous shenanigans like running, scuba diving, skiing, biking, hiking, river kayaking, and world traveling. Dad finally sat down to rest just a few years ago, no doubt in contemplation of a life well lived.

Dad was the first in his family to earn a college degree. He attended University of Southwestern Louisiana but left before he graduated because he already got accepted to Tulane Medical School.

He met Sydney Trower, his wife of 56 years, in the Tulane cafeteria line his first year, they married his third year, and they became parents to Peggy and Martha who cheered for him at graduation. Pediatric internship/residency took the young family to University of California, San Francisco, and daughter Monica was born soon thereafter. Vietnam War was raging at this time, and Dad answered his call to serve in the Navy at Miramar Naval Air Station in San Diego, CA as base pediatrician from 1969 - 1971. From San Diego, the family returned to UCSF for pediatric fellowship training. His most famous patient while at UCSF was Koko, the word-signing gorilla.

Quick story - Koko was born in the San Francisco Zoo, one of the first gorillas born in captivity. There was an outbreak of shigella in the gorilla compound, and Koko and her cousin came down with the disease. Her cousin died, and the zoo vet was wise enough to call the hospital to see if anyone could help to save their very valuable baby. Dad was on-call and had her transferred to UCSF hospital, where she was admitted as Priscilla Gorilla. Baby gorillas are very close genetically to human babies and Dad treated her as he would have treated a human baby. He saved her life! and Koko grew up to be the famous sign-language talking gorilla.

While at UCSF Dad decided he wanted to be an academic pediatrician, with pediatric pulmonology his area of interest. At completion of his training Dad accepted a faculty position at Tulane, his Alma Mater. After three years Dad wanted to move back West, and he became a founding faculty member at University of Arizona Medical Center. His tenure at (then) UMC allowed him to travel the seven continents, lecturing, teaching, and treating patients. Age and a bad back had him leave academics and transfer to administration. One more move was in the works: to Long Branch, NJ as Chief Medical Officer in a three-hospital network. After retiring in 2010 Dad spent his remaining years in the house, we all grew up in, in Tucson, AZ. In the last month of his life, Dad was still planning trips and making sure Mom had all the details figured out. Adventures without Dad will definitely be different.

Friends, family, former patients, and colleagues are welcome to attend a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 5150 N. Valley View Rd. A reception will follow. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.

Clara Sorensen

Clara Sorensen

SORENSEN, Clara "Sporty"

passed away peacefully on September 30, 2021 into the arms of her heavenly savior and the longing embrace of her husband of 60 years, James who proceeded her in crossing over.

Clara is survived by her adoring family including her four children, Jim, Judy, Jerry, and Jeff who each followed their parents loving example in marriages of over 30 years to Kathy, Steve, Christi and Diana. These fruitful marriages blessed Clara with a legacy of love including, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren who she enjoyed spending her time with going to school sports and activities.

She also spent time with family going to games or watching the Wildcats, Buckeyes, or Diamondbacks on T.V. She was born a true coal miner's daughter in Lafferty, Ohio on December 26, 1932. After her father Constantine died as a result of a coal mining accident when Clara was just six years old, she helped her mother, Mary scrub her neighbor's floors and wash windows to help support her family. This was the beginning of more than six decades of hard work that defined her character. Out of necessity, Clara bravely left home to find a job in "big city" Chicago the day after her high school graduation to earn money to support herself and send some back home when she could.

During her early years she was an elevator operator, an office worker, and an aspiring model. Later in life she worked for many years at Reynolds Elementary School in Tucson as the lunch cashier before working her way up to a senior position in the TUSD lunch accounting office known as the "Money Room". She was known and loved by all the kids at Reynolds, especially the ones who forgot their lunch money because she would always make sure they were fed. Clara loved her sports and earned her nickname as a cheer leader for Lafferty High School. She loved watching her daughter Judy follow in her footsteps to cheer at Palo Verde High School where her boys played football, basketball, baseball and ran track. One thing people knew about Clara is she never, ever, missed a game, singing performance, or school event for her kids. Another thing Clara never missed was going to church. She attended Christ the King Church on Davis-Monthan Air Force Base where she took pride in all her sons being altar servers. Later her and her husband James moved into the area of St Francis Parrish on the East side where she made many good friends. She was a very devout Catholic who traced her heritage back to Sengo, Italy as a descendant of Padre Eusebio Kino, founder of San Xavier Del Bac Mission South of Tucson. As a young girl in Lafferty, Clara was in the sacristy of her church when she was visited and touched by our Holy Mother who appeared in a brilliant red light as she described it. This miracle fueled a passion for Christ that endured until her last breath and continues on in her legacy. Clara will always be remembered as a hard times survivor, a trusted friend, a person of great integrity, and a mother with unlimited love and compassion for all children. She was also known sometimes for her discipline, which ultimately was the springboard to success for the generations that she brought into this world. The one thing she didn't tolerate was complainers or "cry-babies"… and to her credit she didn't leave any behind when she passed away. Clara "Sporty" Sorensen was truly a special person. She made the very most of the cards she was dealt and leaves this world having positively influenced the lives of literally hundreds of people. She gave everything her body and soul had to give in life and now is resting in peace showered by the constant brilliant light and love of the father.

Susan Vargas

Susan Vargas

VARGAS, Susan Rowena

July 1, 1941 - September 7, 2021

Age 80. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Susan "Suzi" Rowena (née Bradley) Vargas, beloved wife, mother grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She has departed this earthly existence to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, in whom she sustained unwavering faith throughout her life. Those who knew her will always cherish their memories of her vivacious energy and profound determination, her radiant beauty and the artistry she brought to all her endeavors, and the clear-sighted wisdom she so bravely imparted with both the greatest love and the fiercest tenacity. Susan impacted the lives of everyone she met, and she will be most sorely missed by those who were closest to her. But, because of the amazing woman she was, she has left us all as better people for having known her, and thus empowered us with the means to move forward in our lives, though we must do so without her.

Susan was the eldest of four children born to William Strauther Bradley and Rowena Amelia (née Steele) Bradley. She spent many sunny childhood days growing up in New Mexico and Arizona; visits to her Grand Dad's ranch created many special memories for her, which she would later love retelling to her own children and grandchildren. Her sunny surroundings matched her outgoing and passionate personality, as well as her beautiful red hair. She spent her high school years in Tucson, Arizona graduating with honors from Amphitheater High School in 1959. On October 24, 1959 she married the love of her life, Joseph "Joe" Vargas, and began the joyful union that would span the next 62 years, taking them from Arizona to Alaska, and back again, and bringing them many adventures, four children and six grandchildren along the way.

Suzi enjoyed a successful career throughout the 1960's and '70's, which began as a clerk at a life insurance company and progressed through various positions as a private secretary, junior account executive for a CPA firm, loan processor for a mortgage company, and a prestigious position as Executive Secretary to the Vice President of Mortgage Lending at a major Arizona bank. Her natural creativity, acute eye for detail, and superlative organizational skills flourished in the business environment, and would prove invaluable when, in 1984, in Fairbanks, Alaska, she and Joe launched Denali Fenceworks, a business venture which operated successfully for 35 years and achieved the financial stability that they would need to sustain them in their retirement years.

Throughout her life, Susan developed many artistic pursuits, exhibiting her own paintings at several art shows and selling some of her works. One event she greatly enjoyed as a banking executive was overseeing the annual art show, and she also assisted with cataloging and curating the bank's art collection. As a young woman, she supplemented her income by working as a runway model-a natural fit with her expressive flair for style. She took great joy in decorating her family's home, always designing a striking and beautiful environment in which to raise her family and entertain their guests. And could she ever throw a wonderful party! She will be forever remembered for her outstanding cooking and her ability to always present a stylish and perfectly coordinated appearance. Holidays were made magical by her extraordinary ability to "deck the halls" with a whimsical grace that can never be replicated.

In 1969 Joe began working summers in Alaska, and in 1970 Suzi and the three eldest children came to spend an idyllic six months there, living in a charming ski chalet in Girdwood within walking distance of the then-tiny resort, and the family fell in love with The Last Frontier. Hiking, berry picking (sometimes with bears around), exploring and mushroom collecting, world class fishing, going to school that was held in an ATCO unit down the road, and their first real, snow fort-worthy snowfall. After returning to Tucson and the birth of their fourth child, the family drove the Alcan Highway to Anchorage, Alaska, arriving in April to their new home. Joe's advancement at work brought the family to Fairbanks, Alaska in 1974. Susan soon established her own business typing, editing and proofreading. The family had many adventures in their new home, settling in the Goldstream Valley on the outskirts of Fairbanks in 1975; adjusting well to the long summer days and the cold, dark winters which sometimes dropped to 60 degrees below zero! Each July 4th the family would drive to Homer, Alaska for camping, clam digging, crabbing, fishing, exploring and fireworks on the beach.

Susan pursued studies at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, specializing in Journalism and Art, and at Tanana Valley Community College learning, Conversational Japanese. She tutored executives of Japan Air Lines and their families in English, making lifelong friends along the way. Susan was a member of The Society of Professional Journalists (Sigma Delta Chi), Fairbanks Symphony Guild, Fairbanks Symphony Association, Quota International, Extension Homemakers of America, Literacy Council of Alaska, Monroe Hockey Boosters Association, Christ Lutheran Church, Lutheran Church Women, Camp Fire Girls leader and board member, and the Women's International Bowling Congress. She was especially honored to meet with White House, Papal advance teams and the U.S. Secret Service in connection with the visit to Fairbanks of President Ronald Reagan and Pope John Paul II on May 2, 1984; in charge of credentialing the Press. The most important achievements of all to Suzi were excelling in her roles as a wife and homemaker, though she might prefer the title of Household Executive! She will always be remembered for her warm and outgoing personality, her artistic talents, her undying love for her husband and family, and her zest for life.

Suzi is survived by her beloved husband of 62 years, Joe Vargas; daughters, Diana Hamilton, Delisa deVargas, Amy Brighida deVargas and son, Joseph deVargas; adored grandchildren, William Baker, Paloma deVargas, Berkano Kleymeyer-deVargas, Sionnach Kleymeyer-deVargas, Jamie Keenan-deVargas and Riona Keenan-deVargas; brothers, Bill (Crystal) Bradley, Sid (Cindy) Bradley and sister, Judy Bradley; nieces, Justine Bradley, Pam (Rick) Wilson and Emily Bradley and nephews, Alec (Maryann) Hitchman and Tyler (Marisol) Bradley, as well as Suzi's beloved friend and "adopted daughter," Betty McIntosh; sister-in-law, Elena (Tom) Williams; brothers-in-law, Don (Susie) Vargas, David Vargas and Gary (Michellea) Vargas; nephews, Scott (Carol) Colledge, Bret Colledge, Bart (Jacqueline) Colledge, Eric Colledge, Paul Vargas, Ryan Vargas, Ricky Vargas and Joey Vargas; nieces, Jody Colledge, Debbie Vargas and Melissa Vargas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her nephew, David Bradley. A private inurnment ceremony will be held at East Lawn Palms Cemetery, Tucson, Arizona, on Saturday, October 23, 2021, followed by a private Celebration of Life held at the Vargas residence. The family requests that in lieu of any flowers, a donation in her honor be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at https://givenow.lls.org, or to a charity of your choice.

He valued education and a strong work ethic in the service of others. While those were his interests, his true joy came from his family, whom he was most proud of and who he loved and protected fiercely. He died peacefully at home with the family he loved around him. He was a kind and generous man who will be forever missed.
