FIMBRES, Federico V.

85, of Tucson, passed peacefully in his sleep August 27, 2020. He was born April 15, 1935. Federico (aka Fred, Freddie and Moose) proudly served in the USAF and spent his 35-year military career as a jet aircraft mechanic. He received many commendations and retired as a Master Sargent with the 162nd Air National Guard. Known for his charm and megawatt smile, he never met a stranger, loved extended road trips, and was always the life of the party and the last to leave the dance floor. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Feliciano and Aurelia Fimbres and four brothers. He is survived by daughters, Valerie Fimbres (Dave Wilson) of Tulsa, OK, Deborah (Mike) Parisi of Las Vegas, NV, and Suzanne Fimbres of Tucson; son, Roberto Fimbres (Brenda Boulier) of Pueblo, CO; stepson, Antonio Polanco of Tucson, five grandchildren, sisters, Mary (Manuel) Gallardo and Gloria Quihuis; brother, Rudy Fimbres and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He also leaves behind his beloved sweetheart of 25 years, Bea Miranda and her four daughters. Graveside Services will be held for immediate family only. Arrangements by MARTINEZ FUNERAL CHAPELS.

HROMIDKO, Milo

born August 12, 1930 in Bagley, MN and was called by the Lord on August 23, 2020 in Tucson, AZ after suffering a stroke.

He attended and graduated from Bagley High School in 1950. He retired as a Technical Sergeant from the United States Air Force and from the University of Arizona Central Receiving Dept.

His joys in life were his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his time as a scout master, gardening, and crocheting. He was active in his church St. Frances Cabrini (Eucharistic Minister) and St. Vincent De Paul (delivering food boxes and other volunteer activities).

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Ann Hromidko and a daughter, Ann; parents, Joseph and Mary Hromidko; brothers, Joseph, Charles, Frank and Ben and sister, Sylvia Brandon.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Johnson and his children, Terry (stepchildren, Danny and Patty), Cheryl (Roger) Kellum, Michael (Lisa) and Jill (Kevin) Styer. His six grandchildren, Hayley Kellum, Cody and Luke Hromidko and Shelby, Beth and Cory Styer and two great- grandchildren, Lydia (Shelby) and David (Hayley).

Due to the Pandemic a small grave site service for the family will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2020 at the South Lawn Cemetery located at 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, AZ.

LOPEZ, P. Rose Ann

P. Rose Ann "Roxie" Lopez passed on August 28, 2020 leaving a beloved husband, George Crow and a world filled with family and countless friends. An eighth generation Arizonan, Roxie was born in Tucson on August 3, 1960 to Lydia Ramona "Mona" Lopez and Osvaldo "Vic" G. Lopez, the youngest of seven children. Radiant in light and love felt by all, Roxie was voted "Ms. Congeniality" at the Phoenix Cotillion. She attended Loretto Heights College/Regis University in Denver, CO, earning a Bachelor's in International Relations. Dedicating her life to public service, Roxie moved to Washington, DC to serve as top aide to Timothy E. Wirth in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate. She later served as a Special Assistant to Attorney General Janet Reno. Roxie moved back to Colorado in 2012, assisting with the inception of the U.S. Homeland Security Department. In 2008, she returned to her Tucson pueblo to marry George, the first boy she kissed. Roxie served as the first Communications Director for the U.S. Border Patrol, retiring as Director of Policy and Compliance in 2016. Along her journey, she fulfilled her dreams of world travels surrounded by family and friends, joy and laughter. Roxie is survived by her husband, George; stepchildren, Kasey and Jesse and siblings, Fr. Vicente Osvaldo Lopez, Martha Duarte (Gilbert dec.), Anthony Lopez (Toni Leah), Mercy Valencia (Bob dec.), John Lopez and Victor Lopez (dec.). Private interment. ROMERO, Dr. Guadalupe

76, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 25, 2020 surrounded by her children. A native of Bisbee, Dr. Romero, was a proud alumnus of the University of Arizona, completing undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees in Elementary and Bilingual Education. A lifelong educator, Dr. Romero taught at the University of Arizona, University of Phoenix and following her time as curriculum specialist, served as Principal of nationally recognized Davis Bilingual Elementary School until her retirement in 2003. Her deep founded belief that to lead was to serve; drove her to devote time to organizations including The Tucson International Mariachi Conference, La Frontera Center, Nosotros and the UofA Hispanic Alumni Association.

Her passion for education, community, culture, mariachi music and family will be missed by all. Doctora, Comadre, Hermana, Tía, Nana y Mama - nunca habrá otra como Lupe. Te recordaremos siempre con amor.

Dr. Romero is preceded in death by her husband, Frank O. Romero and survived by her children, Frank (Bea), Maria (Marc), Raul (Nicole) and Judith; 11 grandchildren y una comunidad agradecida la cual ha perdido un pedacito de su alma.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, all funeral services have a restricted amount of attendees and are reserved for immediate family members only. We are humbled and grateful for all the love and support shown by our community.
