FISHER, Elizabeth "Betty" Rose (Snyder)

The heavenly gates opened September 9, 2021 to welcome our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. "Betty Rose" (90) is now reunited with her loving husband, Harvey Fisher Jr.; her parents, Ward and Lucille Snyder; sister, Eloise; brothers, Glenn, Tom, Barry and son, Jerry. Born in Milton, PA on February 13, 1931, Betty Rose's adventurous spirit led her to Tucson in 1956. There in 1961, she married Harv instantly becoming a parent to his children, Jerry and Karen. Daughter Kathy would later become their third Fisher child. Betty is survived by brother, Wayne (Amy) Snyder; daughters, Karen (John) Bloom, Kathryn (Mario) Chavez; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, loving nieces,nephews, and pets. Services will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. in the Catalina United Methodist Church,Memorial Chapel, 2700 E. Speedway Blvd., Tucson, AZ. Thanks to Casa de la Luz and to Ms. Betty's amazing private caregivers, Laura, Lorraine, Claudia, Ebony and more. Arrangements by ADAIR FUNERAL HOMES, Avalon Chapel.

7/22/1936 - 9/11/2021

Passionate artist, adventurer, pilot and educator, Darla founded the Printmaking Program at Pima Community College and taught drawing/art history until 1995. Her innovative work received national and international recognition. She is survived by her Art and the many people who loved her creative, wild spirit. Arrangements by DESERT ROSE HEATHER MORTUARY.

O'HEARN, Daniel Robert, Jr.

77, of Tucson, AZ, passed away at his home on Thursday, July 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. Dan was born June 13, 1944 in Utica, NY, to Lt. Col. (Ret.) Daniel Robert O'Hearn and Elizabeth (Cole) O'Hearn. He attended Gonzaga College High School (D.C.) and Loyola High School of Los Angeles, where he graduated in 1962. He graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 1966 and pursued graduate studies in physics from UC Riverside. Dan met his beloved wife of 51 years, Claudia (Stadden) O'Hearn in 1965 and the two were married December 20, 1969. Dan began his career at Hughes Aircraft Company in CA and in 1971 he transferred to Tucson, AZ, where he and Claudia lived until his death.

Dan was the loving father of Kathleen (Ted Haller) O'Hearn and Kristin (Kevin) Greenwood; devoted grandfather of Ellie and Ethan Greenwood. He is survived by his brothers, Christopher (Jeana) O'Hearn and Gary (Caroline) O'Hearn, as well as numerous extended family and friends. Dan was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Timothy O'Hearn and Patrick O'Hearn.

Dan began his 40-year career with Hughes/Raytheon in integration and test, and later became a senior department manager, where he took most pride in serving as a mentor, helping others with their careers. He treasured these connections and the life-long friendships that developed.

To his family and friends, Dan was a gentle giant and an unfaltering rock of support. He was a patient and compassionate listener, who was quick to smile and connect with others. He was a true caregiver, always full of love. Dan was a kind and selfless soul, who will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 2, 2021 at EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY CHAPEL. Memorial contributions may be made to TMC Hospice (of Tucson Medical Center) or Jesuits West.

Ione Sfarnas

SFARNAS, lone Markes

Passed away September 26, 2021. Ione was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1924 to James and Pauline Markes. She spent her formative years in Norwalk, Ohio, where she loved the small-town life.

In 1952, she married James Sfarnas and the couple moved to Tucson, Arizona, where they opened the Saddle & Sirloin Supper Club, one of the first fine dining restaurants in the Southwest, bringing in top tier entertainment from New York and Las Vegas. Acts like The Platters, The Four Lads and the Beverly Hillbillies would flow on and off the stage. Raised in an entrepreneurial family, she enjoyed working alongside her husband at the restaurant.

lone adored the beauty of the desert and mountains of Tucson, where she spent the last 70 years of her life as a fountain of unending, unconditional love and support for her family. She is survived by her two daughters, Jeannie (David) Howell and Paula (Peter) Fasseas; grandchildren, James (Michelle) Howell, Jennifer Howell (Stephen Ochoa), Stephen Howell, Alexis Fasseas and Drew (Meghan) Fasseas; great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Sophia Howell, Chloe and Madeline Welle, Tennyson Ochoa, Katherine, Alexandra and Olivia Fasseas and many loving nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or PAWS Chicago. Arrangements by EVERGREEN MORTUARY.
